Recently, Xiaomi made headlines by allocating over 100 million Chinese yuan (approximately $45 million USD) in direct bonuses to its auto dealership network across China.
Notably, this cash bonus, distributed as a Lunar New Year “red envelope,” comes with no strings attached—no sales targets or operational conditions required.
Specifically, Xiaomi is offering a 100,000 CNY (around $14,000 USD) bonus for each store established in 2024. Remarkably, this bonus multiplies fivefold to 500,000 CNY ($70,000 USD) for stores completed before December 15, 2025. According to insiders, several large dealership chains have already received bonuses exceeding 4 million CNY ($560,000 USD).
This generous payout is seen by analysts as a pragmatic celebration of Xiaomi’s rapid expansion. In the past three months alone, the company has launched 71 new stores, bringing its total to 441 outlets across 131 cities. By December, an additional 36 stores in 7 cities are expected to open, further solidifying its nationwide presence.
Xiaomi’s confidence is well-founded, given its impressive sales growth. Just 19 months after launching its first vehicle, the company hit the 500,000-unit production milestone in November. Its electric vehicle revenue in Q3 surged by nearly 200% year-over-year. In the first 11 months of 2025, Xiaomi delivered over 361,000 vehicles, with the SU7 sedan leading at 247,000 units and the new YU7 SUV contributing significantly.
From an initial 20,000 monthly sales, Xiaomi has soared to over 45,000 units per month. This substantial dealer bonus serves not only as a token of appreciation but also as a bold statement of Xiaomi’s financial strength and ambition to dominate the electric vehicle market. With its established ecosystem and service network spanning 144 cities, Xiaomi is proving it’s more than just a smartphone maker—it’s a formidable player in the modern automotive industry.
