Car theft is an issue that Shaquille O’Neal, the former NBA basketball star standing at a towering 7’1”, had never faced—until this year. His customized Range Rover was stolen during transit, leaving the basketball legend without his prized vehicle.
Specifically, the 7’1” giant had requested a gray decal wrap for his luxury SUV, along with an extended driver’s seat rail to accommodate his frame. However, Effortless Motors, the customization shop he partnered with, never had the chance to complete these modifications—the Range Rover was stolen before they could begin.
According to reports, the saga began in Lumpkin County, Georgia, where Shaq’s SUV was sent for customization. A towing company was scheduled to pick up the vehicle on October 20 and transport it to the shop. But things took a turn for the worse when the luxury SUV vanished without a trace. The theft was immediately reported to the police. Lumpkin County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard confirmed that a search warrant had been issued, and leads were being pursued.
As of December, the vehicle’s whereabouts remain unknown. Shaquille O’Neal has received no updates on its recovery, despite Effortless Motors offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to its return.

Ahmad Adbelrahman, owner of Effortless Motors, revealed that hackers infiltrated their system, rerouted the transport, and dispatched a fake tow truck to collect the Range Rover. Taking matters into their own hands, the shop purchased a new Range Rover, customized it to Shaq’s specifications, and delivered it to his home just before Christmas.
The SUV featured Shaq’s desired gray wrap and extended seat rail, arriving promptly at the former NBA star’s doorstep. Initially, Shaq believed they had recovered his original vehicle.

“That one’s probably in Dubai,” Ahmad remarked. To make amends for the theft and months of delay, they provided Shaq with a brand-new vehicle, ensuring he didn’t miss out on his dream SUV.
