By the end of December 2025, the Toyota Vios once again solidified its position as Toyota’s “cash cow” in Vietnam’s automotive market, recording an impressive sales figure of 1,972 units.
Throughout 2025, the Toyota Vios achieved a cumulative sales total of 13,424 units. Despite a slight decline compared to the previous year due to broader market challenges, the Vios maintained a comfortable lead over its competitors in the same segment.
With consistent performance across all 12 months, this nationally beloved sedan is on the brink of securing the title of the best-selling sedan in 2025, even as consumer trends shift toward SUVs and electric vehicles.
The B-segment sedan market now awaits sales data from its direct competitor, the Honda City, to finalize rankings. However, as of November 2025, the Honda City’s cumulative sales stood at 9,214 units. To overtake the Vios, the City would need to achieve a record-breaking 4,211 sales in December alone—a highly unlikely scenario. Historically, compact sedans in Vietnam’s automotive market have rarely surpassed the 4,000-unit monthly mark, even during peak buying seasons.
The Toyota Vios retaining its segment leadership for two consecutive years underscores the enduring appeal of its core values: reliability and cost-effectiveness, which remain top priorities for Vietnamese consumers. While the final 2025 sales results await Honda’s official figures, the Vios is poised to conclude the year as the undisputed leader in the B-segment sedan category.
