Vietnam’s automotive market has concluded a tumultuous 2025.

Economic fluctuations and shifting consumer preferences painted a starkly contrasting picture. However, timely government support policies and relentless demand-stimulating efforts from automakers helped the market regain its growth momentum.

The most striking highlight in reports from VAMA, VinFast, and TC Motor is the absolute dominance of green vehicles. The top 10 best-selling cars of the year witnessed an unprecedented surge of electric vehicles over traditional internal combustion engine models.

Below is the top 10 best-selling cars in Vietnam for 2025:
VinFast VF 3: 44,585 units

For the first time in Vietnam, the top four positions are held by a single brand: VinFast. The new “national car,” VinFast VF 3, set an unprecedented record with 44,585 deliveries. Its distinctive design and price tag of 299 million VND made it a global phenomenon in the domestic market.

VinFast VF 5: 43,913 units

Closely trailing is the VinFast VF 5, with 43,913 units sold in 2025, a 12,000-unit increase from the previous year. This 5-seater crossover meets both personal and commercial needs. VinFast currently offers it at 529 million VND.

VinFast Limo Green: 27,127 units

Launched in Q1/2025 but only delivered from August, the VinFast Limo Green quickly made its mark. This 7-seater all-electric MPV, ideal for families and transport services, saw strong growth in the latter part of the year. It ended 2025 with 27,127 units sold.

VinFast VF 6: 23,291 units

Rounding out the top four is the VinFast VF 6 with 23,291 units. In the competitive B-segment crossover market, the VF 6 stands out with its sleek European design and powerful performance. It successfully appeals to discerning customers seeking a refined driving experience. Currently, it offers two versions priced from 694 to 759 million VND.

Mitsubishi Xpander: 19,891 units

With 19,891 units sold in 2025, the Mitsubishi Xpander remains the best-selling gasoline-powered MPV. A slight 393-unit increase from last year solidifies its position as a hard-to-topple icon in the MPV segment. Its durability, practicality, and continuous distributor promotions keep customers loyal. It’s available in both domestically assembled and Indonesian-imported versions, priced from 560 to 703 million VND.

Ford Ranger: 18,692 units

The Ford Ranger retains its title as Vietnam’s best-selling pickup truck and the segment’s sole representative in the Top 10. Ending 2025, it recorded 18,692 units sold, a 1,184-unit increase from the previous year. It’s offered in 10 versions priced from 669 million to 1.039 billion VND; the Ranger Raptor starts at 1.299 billion VND.

Mazda CX-5: 17,262 units

With 17,262 units sold, the Mazda CX-5 had an impressive growth year (up nearly 2,500 units from 2024). THACO Auto’s aggressive pricing strategy, with real prices dipping below 700 million VND, significantly pressured competitors. This domestically assembled SUV is priced from 749 to 979 million VND.

Mitsubishi Xforce: 15,254 units

The Mitsubishi Xforce maintains its appeal with modern design, advanced technology, and competitive pricing. In 2025, it sold 15,254 units, an 847-unit increase, becoming Vietnam’s best-selling B-segment crossover. It offers 4 versions priced from 599 to 710 million VND.

Toyota Yaris Cross: 14,601 units

The Toyota Yaris Cross was one of Toyota’s bright spots last year, delivering 14,601 units, a 3,400-unit increase from 2024. It’s imported and priced from 650 to 765 million VND.

Toyota Vios: 13,424 units

Closing the Top 10 is the Toyota Vios with 13,424 units sold in 2025. Despite a slight 800-unit decrease, it remains a testament to the longevity of a model beloved by generations of Vietnamese.
