The flagship Toyota Land Cruiser 300 HEV SUV is creating a buzz across Southeast Asia, having officially joined the Philippines Department of Energy’s (DOE) list of electrified vehicles.
This move is more than a routine legal procedure; it signals that this luxury SUV is ready to hit the market, paving the way for Toyota’s large SUV electrification era in the region.
In the Philippines, the Land Cruiser 300 HEV will enjoy coveted green vehicle perks, including priority registration and exemption from day-based traffic restrictions. DOE data reveals the regional variant will be the top-tier ZX model, powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine—the same powerhouse driving the ultra-luxurious Lexus LX700h. This promises a refined and smoother driving experience.
Performance-wise, this Hybrid variant marks a significant leap over traditional models. The new powertrain is expected to deliver up to 457 horsepower and a maximum torque of 790 Nm, surpassing the current 3.3L V6 diesel variant’s specs. To uphold the Land Cruiser’s rugged reputation, Toyota confirms the hybrid system, featuring a 1.83 kWh battery, has endured extreme testing in Middle Eastern deserts and mountainous terrains before commercialization.
Speculation suggests the 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 HEV will debut at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
