Vietnam’s automotive market concluded 2025 with remarkable growth figures, marking a historic milestone for the domestic automobile industry.
According to consolidated data from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), VinFast, and Hyundai Thanh Cong, the total vehicle sales across the market in 2025 reached an estimated 604,064 units, a 15% increase compared to the previous year. This significant growth, rare in recent years, was driven by aggressive stimulus policies and the strong appeal of groundbreaking new vehicle models. Several newcomers quickly made their mark in sales and received positive reviews from both consumers and experts shortly after their launch.
Below are four new models that achieved considerable success in 2025:
VinFast Limo Green
In less than five months since its launch in August 2025, the VinFast Limo Green created a real sensation, with cumulative sales reaching 27,127 units, ranking third in the market. In December 2025 alone, this 7-seat all-electric MPV set an unprecedented record with nearly 11,000 deliveries. Beyond commercial success, the Limo Green swept up professional awards, winning a hat-trick at the Car of the Year Awards: “Service Car of the Year,” “Electric Car of the Year,” and “Most Promising Car of 2026.”
Powered by an electric motor delivering 201 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque, the Limo Green features a 60.13 kWh LFP battery offering a 450 km range under the NEDC standard, with fast charging from 10% to 70% in approximately 30 minutes.
Currently, the Limo Green is available in a single version priced at 749 million VND, including the battery.
Mitsubishi Destinator
Despite its launch in the final month of 2025, the Mitsubishi Destinator immediately proved itself as a new “star.” With 2,377 units sold in its first month, the Destinator, alongside the Xpander and Xforce, helped Mitsubishi achieve its highest monthly sales in its 31-year history in Vietnam.
Imported from Indonesia, this model stands out with its modern design, suitable features, and a powerful 1.5L turbocharged engine producing 161 horsepower. The Destinator not only enriches Mitsubishi’s product lineup but also positions the Japanese brand as a leader in the internal combustion engine vehicle market during the peak year-end period.
Subaru Forester 2026
The C-SUV segment witnessed a strong comeback from the Subaru Forester in its new generation. Switching to fully imported models from Japan instead of Thailand, the 2026 Forester immediately asserted its position by winning the “Family Car of the Year” title. The most valuable upgrade is the 2.5L Boxer engine, replacing the previous 2.0L version, paired with Subaru’s renowned Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.
Despite its starting price of 1.299 billion VND, the Forester maintains its appeal, contributing 80% of Subaru’s total sales in Vietnam. It has become a symbol of safety and stable performance.
Honda HR-V e:HEV RS
In the trend of green transformation, the Honda HR-V e:HEV RS excelled, winning the “Hybrid Car of the Year” award. Launched in April 2025 at 869 million VND, this version helped the HR-V surpass its sibling, the CR-V, to become Honda Vietnam’s second best-selling model.
With an impressive fuel efficiency of just 4.4 L/100 km, achieved through the combination of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor, the HR-V e:HEV RS offers not only economic efficiency but also a smooth and responsive driving experience. Its success demonstrates that Vietnamese consumers are increasingly embracing smart and energy-efficient mobility solutions.
