On January 20, 2026, Zeekr, a Geely-owned brand, unveiled additional images of its upcoming large SUV, the 8X. The vehicle is slated for an official launch in the Chinese market during the first half of this year.

Zeekr, set to enter the Vietnamese market this year, introduces a new large SUV with design cues reminiscent of the Porsche Cayenne.

Positioned as a near-premium SUV, the Zeekr 8X sits just below its sibling, the 9X. Built on the sport-oriented version of the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA-S) platform—shared with the Lotus Eletre—the 8X boasts dimensions of 5,100 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, 1,780 mm in height, and a 3,069 mm wheelbase.

The headlights feature 25,368 diamond-cut facets.

At the rear, the Zeekr 8X is equipped with a full-width LED taillight bar, mirroring the front design. The taillights consist of 54,894 diamond-cut facets and utilize ultra-dense 630 nm red light technology. The integrated “Zeekr” lettering and the high-mounted license plate holder further enhance its distinctive look.

The 8X offers wheel sizes ranging from 20 to 22 inches, paired with red brake calipers. Tire specifications include 255/55 R20, 255/50 R21, and 275/40 R22. Notable exterior features include power-retractable side steps, chrome-accented window trim, and an electrically retractable tow hook.

Overall, the Zeekr 8X’s design leans more toward the Porsche Cayenne than the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, with additional lighting influences from Genesis.

Like the 9X, the 8X includes a standard roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, traditional side mirrors, and pull-type door handles. It lacks the futuristic “Stargate” light bar, giving it a less tech-heavy appearance. The star-patterned wheels serve as the final design highlight.

Interior images of the Zeekr 8X remain unreleased. However, it will offer both 5- and 6-seat configurations. Expect luxurious touches inspired by the 9X, including a triple-screen setup: a 13-inch digital instrument cluster, a 47-inch AR-HUD, and a 16-inch OLED infotainment screen. An additional 16-inch OLED screen will cater to the front passenger.

Zeekr confirms the 8X will use a range-extender hybrid system (EREV), likely shared with the 9X. Two powertrain options are available: a dual-motor setup delivering 897 hp and 935 Nm of torque, and a tri-motor configuration producing 1,400 hp and 1,410 Nm. Both pair with a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline engine acting as a generator.

The 8X is expected to use the same 55 kWh and 70 kWh NMC batteries as the 9X. The 70 kWh variant offers a maximum pure-electric range of 380 km (CLTC). Both batteries support “6C” fast charging, enabling a 20-80% charge in just 9 minutes.

Essentially, the Zeekr 8X is the range-extender twin of the Lotus Eletre, known in China as the Lotus For Me. MIIT filings reveal a dual-motor setup, a 355 km pure-electric range, and fuel efficiency of 5.98 L/100 km, even with a depleted battery.

Zeekr plans to launch in Vietnam this year, starting with the 7X and 009 models.
