2025 marks a historic milestone for Škoda Auto as the brand surpasses the one million vehicle delivery mark for the first time, solidifying its position in a volatile market.

Closing 2025, Škoda Auto recorded a remarkable business performance with a total of 1,043,900 vehicles delivered globally, achieving an impressive 12.7% growth compared to the previous year. This is the company’s best result since 2020, showcasing its robust recovery and adaptability in a dynamic market. Notably, in the European stronghold, Škoda has made a remarkable leap, entering the top three best-selling brands in the region for the first time, outperforming several established German and Japanese competitors.

Impressive Sales Growth

In Western Europe, Škoda reported strong sales of 599,300 units, a 11.4% increase. Even in its Central European home market, the brand maintained its momentum with 205,500 deliveries, a 7% rise year-on-year. Eastern Europe also contributed significantly, with a steady 5.9% growth, equivalent to 53,800 vehicles.

The primary driver of this surge is the dual strategy of developing both traditional internal combustion engines and pure electric vehicles (BEVs). The iconic Octavia sedan remains a cornerstone, with over 190,000 units sold. Notably, 2025 also marked the Octavia’s one millionth unit produced since its 2020 launch, bringing the total global production across four generations to 7.6 million units.

Meanwhile, the SUV duo, Kodiaq and Kamiq, also achieved significant success by catering to the growing demand for high-clearance vehicles. Both models recorded impressive sales, with 130,400 and 125,900 units respectively in the past year.

Škoda’s electric vehicle segment witnessed the remarkable rise of the Elroq. With over 95,000 deliveries, the Elroq quickly became the second best-selling electric vehicle in Europe. Its outstanding performance significantly expanded Škoda’s electric vehicle market share, positioning the brand fourth in Europe for total BEV sales by manufacturer. Beyond commercial success, the Elroq also garnered prestigious international awards, including the Red Dot Design Award and the German Car of the Year 2026 title.

Non-European Markets: India Shines, China Stalls

Beyond its core European market, Škoda’s performance in other regions presented contrasting outcomes. India emerged as a new star with a 96.1% sales growth, reaching a record-breaking 70,600 units, thanks to effective product localization strategies. In contrast, China faced intense competition, with sales dropping 14.5% to approximately 15,000 units. This decline highlights the fierce competition from local Chinese brands, particularly in the affordable electric vehicle and high-tech segments.

Vietnam has also become a strategic link in Škoda’s global expansion. Since March 2025, Škoda has commenced production of the Slavia and Kushaq models at its new Vietnamese plant. This move not only optimizes supply capabilities but also underscores the brand’s long-term commitment to the Southeast Asian region.

130 Years of Vision and Electrification

2025 holds special significance for Škoda, both in terms of brand heritage and long-term strategy. Celebrating its 130th anniversary with grand events in Mladá Boleslav, the company also unveiled its new “Modern Solid” design language through the Vision O concept.

Additionally, Škoda continues to enhance its brand image by expanding sponsorships in top cycling events, including the Tour de France and UCI World Mountain Bike and Gravel Championships.

Achieving the one million vehicle milestone and entering Europe’s top three best-selling brands not only demonstrates numerical success but also signifies Škoda’s comprehensive transformation. Evolving from a practicality-focused brand, Škoda has successfully reinvented itself as a modern, tech-savvy, and pioneering force in the electrification era. This achievement lays a solid foundation for the Czech brand to further expand its influence in emerging markets and strengthen its leadership in the years ahead.
