After a long period with its previous design, the Nissan Kicks is set to re-enter the B/B+ Crossover segment with a highly anticipated upgraded version.
According to the plan, the Nissan Kicks 2026 will debut in the Southeast Asian market in March, likely coinciding with the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS 2026). Notably, as Vietnam typically imports this model from Thailand, enthusiasts are hopeful that the Nissan Kicks 2026 will soon arrive in the domestic market this year, bringing a fresh breeze to Nissan’s product lineup in Vietnam.
In this mid-life upgrade, the Nissan Kicks 2026 impresses with significant design changes, focusing on a modern and robust appearance. The front end stands out with a boldly sculpted grille and bumper, paired with distinctive dual-layer LED headlights. The side profile becomes sportier with new 17-inch alloy wheels, while the rear has been refined with updated taillights and a redesigned tailgate, creating a youthful overall look.
Inside, the cabin is meticulously designed with a minimalist yet tech-savvy aesthetic. The new dashboard features a 7-inch MID screen alongside a 9-inch Pioneer infotainment display, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Notably, the center console has been completely revamped with an electronic Shift-by-Wire gear selector, electronic parking brake, and auto-hold function, elevating the experience for tech-savvy young customers.
While markets like Brazil offer traditional gasoline engine options, Nissan remains committed to its signature e-Power system in Southeast Asia. This setup includes a direct-drive electric motor delivering 136 horsepower and 280Nm of torque, providing instant and smooth acceleration akin to a pure electric vehicle. The unique aspect is the 1.2L gasoline engine, which acts solely as a generator to charge the lithium-ion battery, allowing drivers to enjoy the benefits of electric driving without range anxiety.
The launch of the Kicks 2026 underscores Nissan’s ambition to reclaim market share in the highly competitive B-CUV segment. The model will face stiff competition from established rivals like the Toyota Yaris Cross, Corolla Cross, and Honda HR-V, as well as emerging electric and hybrid offerings from Chinese brands. However, with its striking redesign and fuel-efficient e-Power technology, the Nissan Kicks 2026 could become a compelling contender if TC Motor adopts a competitive pricing strategy for its introduction in Vietnam.
