Premium electric vehicle brand Zeekr has officially unveiled the first details of its upcoming 8X PHEV, a highly anticipated newcomer set to shake up the market in 2026.

Positioned within the brand’s lineup, the Zeekr 8X sits between the flagship 9X and the soon-to-launch 7X in Vietnam. Its introduction underscores Zeekr’s commitment to filling every luxury SUV segment, catering to the growing demand from consumers seeking the electric vehicle experience while retaining the flexibility of a gasoline engine for long journeys.

The Zeekr 8X PHEV continues the brand’s modern design language with bold, angular lines, creating a commanding and authoritative presence. A standout feature is the sleek daytime running light strip paired with advanced lighting technology, ensuring unmistakable brand recognition. Measuring 5,100 mm in length and with a 3,069 mm wheelbase, the 8X rivals the dimensions of the Ford Explorer.

To optimize user experience, Zeekr offers two seating configurations: a 5-seater or a 6-seater, catering to both family needs and premium shuttle services.

While full technical specifications remain undisclosed, data from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reveals the 8X PHEV’s impressive capabilities. It features a plug-in hybrid system combining a 2.0L gasoline engine with 275 horsepower, an electric motor, and a 70kWh battery, enabling an all-electric range of up to 328 km.

Industry experts speculate that the all-electric Zeekr 8X variant may inherit the 9X’s quad-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering a staggering 1,381 horsepower.

The Zeekr 8X PHEV is built on the cutting-edge SEA-S architecture, specifically designed for high-performance electrified vehicles. This platform seamlessly integrates large-capacity batteries while maximizing safety technology integration.

Real-world images confirm the presence of a roof-mounted Lidar sensor, indicating Zeekr’s intention to equip this SUV with advanced autonomous driving capabilities. Slated for a 2026 debut in China before expanding globally, the Zeekr 8X PHEV is poised to lead the charge in the era of sustainable mobility.
