The 2018 CB500X Adventure model from Honda Vietnam was introduced in May 2018 at a starting price of 180 million VND. Less than a year later, the 2019 version of the CB500X was launched in Vietnam at a higher price of nearly 8 million VND (including VAT). Both models are imported from Thailand.

In mid-May 2018, a series of Honda motorcycles were introduced in Vietnam, marking a new chapter for the Japanese joint venture. Among these models was the Honda CB500X, which belongs to the adventure touring segment. As part of the 500cc lineup, the CB500X combines the perfect design for both daily commuting and weekend touring. The bike draws inspiration from the famous Africa Twin model of the “winged” brand.

With the improvements made for the 2019 model year, the CB500X features a more pronounced and refined Adventure style, along with enhanced performance. The frame has been fine-tuned to make the bike a perfect machine for conquering any challenge. Although the CB500X is now upgraded for off-road features, it still leans more towards touring. In terms of overall appearance, the CB500X 2019 retains the design of its predecessor, with some modifications to give it a stronger and more angular look.

Some upgrades on the CB500X 2019 include a taller and wider windscreen – an accessory that was previously available for customers to make their bikes a true adventure companion. The LED headlight system has also been redesigned to improve lighting performance. Honda also offers a range of options for the CB500X 2019, such as a center stand, handlebar protection, side cases, engine guard, 12V power outlet, and heated handlebars.

The side panels, radiator shroud, and fairing feature sharp, angular lines, giving the bike a 3D impression. The fuel tank seamlessly integrates with the bodywork, creating a harmonious and cohesive feel. The diamond-shaped frame remains strong and lightweight, with improved flexibility to provide better responsiveness on changing road conditions.

The seat height remains at 830 mm, and the overall dimensions of the bike are 2155 mm x 825 mm x 1410 mm. The ground clearance is 180 mm, and the fuel tank has a capacity of 17.5 liters (including reserve fuel). The wheelbase is 1445 mm, and the bike weighs 197 kg.

Although not equipped with spoked wheels like pure Adventure models, the CB500X now features a larger 19-inch front wheel compared to the previous version, coupled with a longer front suspension travel to optimize handling on complex terrains. The rear wheel remains at 17 inches.

The CB500X 2019 comes standard with ABS, and the bike is equipped with Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour tires, suitable for both asphalt and off-road conditions.

The engine remains unchanged from the 2018 model, with a 471 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC twin-cylinder engine producing a maximum power of 47 hp at 8,600 rpm and a peak torque of 43 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

For the 2019 model year, the CB500X is now equipped with a two-way quickshifter, making upshifting and downshifting smoother and minimizing wheel lock-up during aggressive downshifting.
