Introduced for the first time in March 2022, the Mercedes-AMG G63 Edition 55 is a special edition commemorating the 55 years of the AMG brand.
Edition 55 marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the AMG division of the Mercedes-Benz brand, launched on the G 63 AMG model since March 2022. In the Vietnamese market, Mercedes-AMG G63 Edition 55Â is only distributed in 10 units, including 2 units in Thai Nguyen.
Mercedes-AMG G63 Edition 55 commemorative edition comes in two color options: Obsidian Black Metallic and G Manufaktur Opalite White, with suggested retail prices of 12.61 billion VND and 12.85 billion VND respectively. This price is higher than the facelift version of the Mercedes-AMG G63 by about 860 million VND – 1.1 billion VND.
Accordingly, there are two Mercedes-AMG G63 Edition 55 units currently in Thai Nguyen, including 1 black unit and 1 white unit. Among them, the white Mercedes-AMG G63 Edition 55 has already been registered. Moreover, the license plate belongs to the “premium” category, 20A-666.88. The remaining black unit has not been registered yet.
Mercedes-AMG G63 Edition 55 doesn’t differ much in terms of design compared to the regular version. The car is equipped with the AMG Night Package with many black shiny details on the exterior, the front lights still have LED Multibeam technology. The commemorative decals on the body of the car, along with the 22-inch black alloy wheels, and the fuel tank also has its own emblem, are the distinguishing points from the standard G63 version.
The interior of the car uses high-quality materials such as carbon fiber, Dinamica composite fiber, and Nappa leather with the main colors being red and black. The “AMG 55” emblem is decorated on the steering wheel and armrest. The black floor mat, with red stitching and the “Edition 55” lettering, creates a highlight.
As a limited edition, the car is equipped with many premium, modern amenities such as: 12.3-inch dual screen – entertainment system, Burmester speakers, 64-color interior ambient lighting, triple-zone independent automatic air conditioning, panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable seats with heating and cooling functions for the front seats.
Providing the power for the Mercedes-AMG G63 Edition 55 is still the twin-turbocharged V8 4.0L engine producing 577 horsepower and a maximum torque of 850 Nm. It is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission 9G-Tronic combined with a 2-wheel drive system and 3 differential locks to optimize off-road capabilities. This luxury SUV only takes 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h before reaching a top speed of 220 km/h.
