Lexus has just announced the 2024 LS version for the US market with many notable changes. First is the exterior, customers will find the new Silver Illusion paint color, accompanied by 5 exclusive wheel designs and colors.
Continuing the upgrades inside the cabin include the new standard smart wireless phone charger. In addition, the LS 500 also has a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, HUD screen, and digital key technology.
The LS 500 is also equipped with the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 driver assistance system, including Adaptive Cruise Control at all speeds, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist. In addition, there are a range of features such as Traffic Sign Recognition, Active Steering Assist, and Pre-Collision Warning system with pedestrian detection. This model also has an Emergency Steering Assist system, which will gradually stop the car if the driver does not respond on the highway in an emergency.
Lastly, but not least important, the Luxury and Executive packages now include a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel with wooden accents.
In terms of pricing, the 2024 Lexus LS starts at $80,685, an increase of $1,950. However, with the additional equipment, this price increase is also acceptable.
Lexus has not yet announced full details about the equipment, but the base LS 500 will be equipped with LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and hands-free power trunk lid. Customers will also receive a sunroof and 19-inch wheels.
Moving inside, standout features include a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control and a 12.3-inch Lexus Interface infotainment system with cloud-based navigation and voice assistant. Other highlights include heated and ventilated front seats, power-adjustable and power-retractable sunshades, and a 12-speaker audio system.
Providing power for the car is a twin-turbocharged 3.4L V6 engine, producing a maximum power of 416 horsepower and a peak torque of 599 Nm, combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is also available, and Lexus says this sedan can accelerate from 0-60 mph in about 4.6 seconds.
Customers looking for an environmentally friendly car can choose the 2024 LS 500h, with a starting price of $115,560, an increase of $725. This version still retains the previous Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 driver assistance technology, but is equipped with the Teammate semi-automated driving system.
The LS 500h version uses a hybrid 3.5L V6 engine, with a combined power of 354 horsepower, enabling the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 203 km/h.
