The Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, an international racetrack, was officially inaugurated in April 2021. With a total length of 4,301m and a total of 17 curves, the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit is ready to challenge the world’s racers participating in Stage 4 ARRC 2023.
The racetrack is located in the Mandalika resort area, on the island of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara province, which is considered one of Indonesia’s “top 5 priority tourist destinations”. When visiting Mandalika, besides immersing yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the ARRC 2023 race, visitors can also enjoy the beautiful tourist attractions with white sandy beaches, lush green hills, and luxurious resorts.
Returning to the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, there is an interesting piece of information that the Pit Building central control tower is made from locally produced materials and uses the modular construction method of PT Wijaya Karya Building (PT WIKA).
Built in 21 days, the Pit Building central control tower for this famous international racetrack has also been recognized by the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) as the fastest-built international-grade Pit Building using the modular system.
The Pit Building is 350m long with a capacity of 50 garages and is built with a modular system consisting of three floors, of which the first floor functions as garages for racing teams and team technicians. Each garage has a width of 5.24m with a length of 18.34m and is built with a construction area of 13,700 m2. The second floor is a viewing area, reserved for VIP guests, the Media Center, and the third floor is for various other support facilities.
In addition, to meet the requirements of a world-class race like MotoGP, the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit has applied the latest asphalt technology, using a Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA) mixture. This is an advanced mixture used to cover the surface of the asphalt. This mixture is affirmed to enhance the structure of the road’s surface.
Another interesting point about the Indonesia Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit is that if no race is taking place, the racetrack can also operate as a tourist destination. Therefore, people can use the area around the racetrack for recreational activities such as running or walking and enjoying the surrounding scenery. This means that if you visit Lombok for a normal vacation, you can still visit the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit to admire the grand design of the racetrack and leisurely stroll around.
