Stage 2 of VMRC 2022 – The Radiant Blossom

The second leg of the Vietnam Motor Racing Championship 2022 took place last weekend at Dai Nam race track in Binh Duong province, featuring exciting surprises in all 5 racing categories as the winners were not the same as those who claimed the top spot on the podium in Leg 1.

And especially, for the first time in the Vietnam Motorcycle Racing Championship, a female racer won the stage. That is the catalyst for added attractiveness to the competition.

Similar to Stage 1, the “Kid Training Mini Race” and the “Gymkhana” contest for the audience are still two activities that attract a large number of fans.

Designed specifically for “young” racers aged 3-12 who are passionate about speed. The mini race track consists of 2 activities: balance bike racing for children aged 3-6 and CRF50 driving experience for those aged 7-12.

Meanwhile, with the “Gymkhana” contest, the audience has the opportunity to access the professional motorcycle model, thereby improving awareness of professional and legal races. In this Stage 2, the “Gymkhana” contest is guided by Cao Viet Nam, a racer from the Honda Racing Vietnam team who won the championship of the Thailand Talent Cup 2019. Cao Viet Nam is currently competing in the AP250 category of the Asian Motorcycle Racing Championship 2022.

Returning to the main developments of Stage 2 VMRC 2022. After the qualification session, the racers who won the poles in each category are Nguyen Vu Phuong (Vietnam Talent Cup – NSF 100 category), Duong Ngoc Vuong (Blade 110 category), Nguyen Vu Thanh (CBR150R category), Vo Huyen Thien Thu (Winner X 150 category), and Le Phung (UB 150 category).

Compared to Stage 1, the race track structure has changed with longer distance, increased difficulty, and challenges for the racers.

Vietnam Talent Cup category (NSF100)

The Vietnam Talent Cup category is a battle of 6 racers. Despite not having the advantage of starting in the top positions, Tran Gia Huy (number 05) excellently surpassed his opponents to finish in first place after 8 laps. The 2nd and 3rd positions belong to Nguyen Vu Phuong (number 03) and Tran Ngo Khoa (number 06) respectively.

Blade 110 Category

Blade 110 is the category that made the most impression in Stage 2 VMRC 2022 as it was the first time a female racer claimed the top spot. Despite starting in the 6th position out of 9 racers, Nguyen Truong Hai Yen (number 12) had an exceptional afternoon of racing, surpassing male opponents to finish convincingly in 1st place. In Stage 1, Yen finished in 5th place. The 2nd and 3rd positions belong to Nguyen Hoang Quan (number 29) and Duong Ngoc Vuong (number 19) respectively.

Winner X 150 Category

Similar to Stage 1, in Stage 2, female racer Vo Huyen Thien Thu (number 32) left a strong impression. Thu finished in 2nd place after 12 laps. The 1st position belongs to Phan Minh Phung (number 40), while Nguyen Minh Tri (number 35) finished 3rd.

CBR150R Category

CBR150R is the most fiercely competitive category of the VMRC 2022 when the racers are always close and challenging. After 12 laps, Nguyen Hoang Dang Khoa (number 17) excellently finished first in the race. The 2nd and 3rd positions belong to Nguyen Vu Thanh (number 61) and Nguyen Ton Anh Phu (number 10) respectively.

UB 150 Category

Lastly, the competition in the UB 150 category. As mentioned earlier, the organizing committee upgraded the UB 130 category to UB 150 to keep up with the technology trends of major races in the region.

This category always has intense and dramatic competitions not only among the racers but also among the clubs. In the end, Le Hung Huu Tin (number 11) finished in the 1st position. Meanwhile, Le Phung (number 13) and Le Hoang Phi Phung (number 26) finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Thus, all 5 racers on the top podium of each category are new names. This shows the attractiveness of the VMRC 2022. Stage 2 also officially concludes with many surprises. See you again in Stage 3, scheduled to take place in October.
