Coming to the market next year, Toyota will introduce active safety technologies called Toyota Safety Sense (TSS). The Japanese manufacturer divides it into 2 optional packages, committing to offer reasonable prices with the aim of helping users prevent or minimize damage in collisions.

Toyota introduces a series of new technologies toyota-safety-sense1.jpgToyota Safety Sense.

First, the TSS C package will be for compact cars and include a pre-collision warning system, using a camera and radar laser. When there is a risk of collision, the system will provide audio and visual alerts to remind the driver. If the driver does not react in time, the system will automatically apply the brakes and reduce the speed of the car to approximately 30 km/h.

The TSS C package also includes a lane departure warning system and adaptive headlights, automatically switching between high and low beams, and can detect oncoming vehicles as well as vehicles in front.

Next is the TSS P package for mid-size and luxury cars, which includes all the safety features of the TSS C package but adds cruise control and a pre-collision warning system with pedestrian detection technology.

In addition to the above safety systems, Toyota confirms that the company is developing a new vehicle-to-vehicle communication system as well as intelligent LED headlights.
