Unlike other years, 2019 has truly been a milestone year for auto racing in Vietnam with the largest number of races ever held, from local to national scale. The racing teams not only participated in domestic competitions but also competed in regional events. This is clearly a big step from the Vô-lăng Vàng 2008 (Golden Steering Wheel) organized by the Otofun.net Community, which was considered the first off-road driving skill competition in Vietnam, with only 2 racing teams and 7 athletes.

Up to now, after numerous upgrades in scale and nature of the competition, the race organized by Otofun.net has become a well-known brand under the name Vietnam Offroad Cup (VOC).

Reaching the 11th milestone, VOC has officially partnered with the first companion unit – PVOIL – which has been standing side by side with the race for many years. With support from other units, the Organizing Committee (OC) has been able to upgrade the scale of the race to a more professional level. One of the upgrades is the increase in prize money for teams with the best achievements, which is twice the previous amount, totaling more than VND 600 million in cash. The First Prize in the Extended category is VND 110 million in cash, the highest prize value among all previous racing competitions.

PVOIL VOC 2019 returns to racers and audiences nationwide with 4 categories: Vietnamese Pickups, Basic, Advanced, and Extended, along with changes in regulations that benefit athletes at all levels, aiming to maximize operational capabilities, minimize damage, and enhance safety for all participating vehicles and spectators.

This year, Adventure – the night challenge – will return after a one-year hiatus and will take place on the first racing night, September 28. This leg of the race has a strong traditional character and is not only a surprise challenge for the participating athletes but also an unforgettable experience, where opponents become teammates and compete as a group with the spirit of “the test is only complete when the entire team reaches the finish line”.

In addition, the OC has invested in upgrading the timing and scoring system using chip cards and will also test the application of laser scoring technology in some competitions. The results will be displayed for each test and each team on the Otofun.net forum in real-time, serving racers and fans.

In the 11th season, in addition to hundreds of thrilling performances on off-road tracks, PVOIL VOC 2019 will have more activities to allow spectators to interact with the race.

In addition, with extensive livestreaming on various platforms and devices, viewers can directly watch PVOIL VOC 2019 on a 50m2 LED screen in the central area of the race, on various national television channels, or anywhere with internet access.

With the desire to create a “Safe – Transparent – Fair – Fun” racing movement, the OC always strives to build VOC beyond just a driving skill competition, aiming to become a festival for car and sports enthusiasts. The organizing committee also hopes to discover and nurture more talents to reach international races, and at the same time, the race will become a connection and encouragement for members to actively participate in community activities, social work, and charity in remote and difficult areas with poor transportation.
