In July, there were many rumors that the MG7 would be launched in the Vietnamese market in Q4/2023. However, it is now the end of November and SAIC Motor – the distributor and importer of MG cars in Vietnam has not provided any information about this car model.
According to sales advice, MG7 will be distributed in Vietnam with 2 versions: STD (Standard) and LUX (Luxury), with an expected price range of 750 million dong.
MG7 was introduced globally in August 2022 and officially went on sale in March this year in the Chinese market. This sedan model has dimensions of length x width x height of 4,884 x 1,889 x 1,447 mm and a wheelbase length of 2,778 mm.
MG7 2023 has a design that is not only sporty and muscular but also exudes luxury and elegance. The front of the car impresses with its sharp triangle-shaped headlights equipped with dual LED strips inside and vents on both sides of the front fenders for added sportiness.
The car’s roof is designed in an eye-catching coupe style, accompanied by frameless windows, large alloy wheels, and sculpted bodywork that contribute to the elegance of this sedan.
The rear of the car is perhaps the most attractive part of the MG7 2023 with its aerodynamic wing that resembles the one on the Porsche Panamera.
When moving on crowded streets, the 3-stage adaptive electric rear wing will be stored in the hatchback trunk and the slightly raised ducktail will meet aerodynamic requirements at normal speeds. When the speed exceeds 100 km/h, the rear wing will automatically lift up and open, providing better stability like supercars.
In addition, the car is equipped with a 4-exhaust system and a large wind diffuser, and a long LED taillight that extends the width of the rear.
Regarding the interior, MG7 2023 has a 5-seat configuration. Inside the cabin, the design is minimalistic but still very elegant. Most physical buttons have been eliminated. Some buttons such as volume up/down, temperature control, etc. are arranged as touch-sensitive buttons below the screen.
The car is equipped with a full 10.25-inch LCD dashboard and a prominent 12.3-inch central control screen on the dashboard. The MG7 has a neat 3-spoke steering wheel and a compact electronic shifter.
In addition, the car also has other prominent features such as: premium leather seats with a sporty design that hug the body. The large double sunroof for both rows of seats provides a spacious interior in the car.
This C-segment sedan is also equipped with a Topload opening and closing glass, the Zebra Luoshen 8155 intelligent steering system, advanced MG PILOT 2.0 intelligent driving assistance, and a BOSE Premium 9-speaker sound system…
In the premium version, the car is equipped with smart electronically controlled mCDC suspension, X-Mode super driving mode, and a BOSE Centerpoint 14-speaker surround sound system with SurroundStag sound technology.
According to information from sales advice, MG7 will be distributed in Vietnam with the same engine options as the Chinese market. The first option is a turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine with a capacity of 2.0L, producing 261 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque, paired with a 9-speed manual transmission.
The second option is a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a capacity of 1.5L, producing 180 horsepower and 298 Nm of torque, combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Both versions are equipped with 4 driving modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, and X-MODE.
