To all car enthusiasts out there, get ready for some exciting news. Toyota has just announced a surprising facelift for the Land Cruiser 70 Series in late November 2023. This legendary generation, known for its “indestructible” reputation, was first introduced back in 1984, which means it has been around for an impressive 39 years!
The facelifted version of the Land Cruiser 70 Series, as revealed by Toyota, retains the iconic design of this generation. While it may look classic, this boxy design is actually becoming a new trend in the market, as seen in the latest Land Cruiser Prado model.

In the latest update, the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series still offers three configurations, including a 5-door SUV, a 3-door SUV, and a single-cabin pickup truck. A picture released by Toyota Australia shows that there might also be a dual-cabin configuration, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Some aesthetic updates can be noticed, such as round LED headlights, prominent turn signals, a chrome-plated front bumper, and box-shaped taillights that mimic the original Land Cruiser design. The appearance of new 16-inch alloy wheels could be an exclusive feature in the UAE market.

The interior of the facelifted Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series features synthetic leather upholstery, a 9-inch central entertainment screen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay support, 2 entertainment speakers, and power-adjustable windows. In terms of safety technology, it is equipped with modern features such as Lane Change Assist and Forward Collision Warning. However, the passive safety aspect is still limited (due to outdated hardware) with only 2 front airbags.

Depending on the market, the facelifted Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series can be equipped with either a V8 4.5L engine, an I-4 2.8L engine, or a V6 4.0L engine. The latest addition is the V6 variant, offering a power output of 228 horsepower and a torque of 360 Nm. The 6-speed ECT automatic transmission sends power to both axles.
The starting price for the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series ranges from 1.12 billion VND for the 3-door SUV to 1.19 billion VND for the 5-door SUV (converted from local currency).
