If you are tired of traveling in closed four-wheeled vehicles to see the scenery pass by the windows, it’s time to explore Touring Cruisers like the BMW K1600, to directly experience the surrounding environment in a complete way, while still maintaining comfort during long-distance trips.

The first impression that the “Bagger” BMW K1600 Grand America brings is its massive size. With dimensions of 2,489 x 1,000 x 1,465mm, corresponding to the length, width, and height respectively; combined with a total weight of 350kg and the ability to carry up to 650kg, it is clear that the K1600 is not intended for novices.

The front of the bike features a large area dedicated to the premium lighting system, with a design that is reminiscent of the visor of astronauts. The high-performance Adaptive Xenon technology not only enhances the driver’s visibility, but also allows the angle of the light beam to “peek” according to the driver’s steering input.

The two side shoulders are designed to taper backward, similar to large touring models like the Honda Gold Wing. Below on the left side, there are conveniently located buttons for quick access to various operating features.

Similarly, and even superior to many four-wheeled vehicles today, the BMW K1600 features a dual analog-digital gauge cluster, with a large color information display screen and two small indicator gauges, located on the central console. It also has the ability to connect to a smartphone, GPS navigation… and can easily adjust various features with just one finger using the Multi-Controller knob.

The number 6 is clearly printed on the body of the bike, as well as on the screen when the bike is started, emphasizing the 6-cylinder engine of the K1600: with a displacement of 1,649cc, it generates a power of up to 160 horsepower and a maximum torque of 175Nm, allowing the Bagger to reach speeds above 200 km/h.

Especially, 70% of the pulling power can be achieved from as low as 1,500 rpm, as well as the Ride-by-wire throttle system, making the K1600 B a particularly agile and exciting bike to ride.

Along with that, it comes equipped with a range of premium features that are not inferior to any four-wheeled vehicle, such as: a 6-speed integrated gearbox with reverse, front entertainment speakers, tire pressure warning, LED fog lights, daytime running lights, ABS PRO brakes, engine crash bar, DTC traction control system, active rider assistance function, smart key fob.

To be able to handle the basic weight of over 400kg on two wheels, the BMW K1600 B is equipped with the exclusive Duolever front suspension system and Paralever rear suspension system from the German manufacturer.

When set to Cruise mode, the bike will automatically adjust the suspension system to prioritize comfort. Combined with a seating position of 870mm, high and wide handlebars, and large footrests; the rider’s riding posture is very comfortable and can handle journeys of over 1,000km without much difficulty.

In addition, the K1600 is equipped with BMW’s dual-disc brake system with 4-piston calipers at the front and a single-disc brake system with 2-piston calipers for the rear wheel. The bike features chrome-plated dual exhaust pipes, showcasing its elegance and luxury.

In Vietnam, the BMW K1600 is displayed with a Touring accessory package, including a large windscreen, two additional side saddlebags, and a rear trunk storage compartment.

Thaco, the distributor, has listed the price of the BMW K1600 Grand America as 1.1 billion VND; it comes in two color options: Black Storm Metallic or Imperial Blue Metallic, and is backed by a 3-year unlimited mileage warranty.
