Recently, AutoSpy has released photos of what is believed to be the prototype of the KIA K8 facelift being tested in South Korea. It seems that this K8 prototype is still in the early stages of development.
Captured near the Hyundai-Kia R&D Center, the prototype of the upgraded KIA K8 is well concealed at the front and rear, making it difficult to notice any design changes. Most likely, the most notable changes will be focused on the front of the car, to give it a new and more appealing look.
As for the powertrain, we do not expect any significant changes compared to the current version, except for some minor adjustments to improve engine efficiency and upgrade the battery pack to increase the operating range for the HEV variant.
Regarding the interior, looking at the recently launched Sorento, it is likely that the KIA K8 Facelift will also receive a large curved display, which combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, accompanied by the latest safety features and technology. The new steering wheel takes inspiration from the EV9.
Kia has not announced the official release date of the K8 Facelift, but it is expected to be around summer 2024 in South Korea, while versions for the European and American markets will be launched at the end of 2024.
