According to Car News China, the QM7 is a luxury bus produced by the Hongqi brand, which belongs to the FAW Group. It was first revealed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology earlier this year, and recently, more test images of the QM7 have been spotted on the streets.

Going back to the 1980s, the Hongqi CA630 was a 19-seater luxury bus with a 4.5L V8 engine that was produced by the Chinese automaker for 7 consecutive years.

This commercial vehicle line from Hongqi was interrupted for about 30 years before being revived with the presence of the QM7.

On the exterior, the QM7 features a large chrome-plated grille, described by Hongqi as a spectacular waterfall. Car News China comments that although it has an impressive design, having this type of grille at the front of a bus still brings about a lot of controversy.

At the lower part of the front bumper, the chromed trim and the two-tier headlights are equipped for the QM7 by Hongqi. Car News China comments that these details are positioned quite low, and are likely to be easily dirtied when the bus moves in bad weather.

The side mirrors are also a puzzling detail on the QM7, as this component on the left side of the front of the bus is positioned close to the windshield.

At the rear of the bus, the taillights of the Hongqi QM7 have a vertical shape, and are arranged next to the parking sensors and the rearview camera.

The Hongqi QM7 has dimensions of 7,295 x 2,090 x 2,785 mm (length x width x height) with a wheelbase of 3,990 mm.

The Chinese automaker equips the QM7 bus with a V6 turbocharged petrol engine with a displacement of 3.0L. With this engine, the QM7 has a maximum power output of 303 horsepower and a fuel consumption rate of 15.9 liters per 100 kilometers.

As it is still a test model, the interior of the QM7 is relatively basic with many unfinished details.

Wires are still exposed in the dashboard area, and the sun visor has not been installed. However, the images show that the driver’s seat is large, upholstered in leather, and has armrests.

The steering wheel of the Hongqi QM7 is round, with a two-spoke design and a large Hongqi logo in the center. The gear lever in the QM7 is monostable. The bus also features 2 cup holders positioned next to the driver’s seat.

It is worth noting that the passenger seats of the Hongqi QM7 are large in size, with integrated headrests and leather upholstery. Car News China states that these seats are quite similar to the second-row seats on the Hongqi HQ9 MPV.

With a total seating capacity of only 23 seats, the Hongqi QM7 is equipped with spacious legroom between the seats, ensuring a comfortable travel experience for passengers.

According to Car News China, after its official launch, the Hongqi QM7 may only be used by government agencies, state-owned companies, or upscale tourism units.
