The Mitsubishi Triton 2024 is the first pickup truck to be tested under the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia) 2021-2025 safety evaluation process.
The Mitsubishi Triton 2024 model is being tested as a dual-cab version with standard safety features such as 3 airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), in addition to optional features such as emergency brake assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, blind spot warning, and automatic headlights.
According to the ASEAN NCAP report, the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 scored 26.01 out of 32 points in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category. In the Child Occupant Protection (COP) category, the Japanese pickup truck achieved a score of 44.72 out of 51 points.
Next is the Safety Assist (SA) category, where the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 scored 15.16 out of 21 points and achieved a score of 8.18 out of 16 points for the motorcycle safety assessment. At the end of the test, the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 received a total score of 74.71 points, enough to earn a 5-star safety rating from the ASEAN NCAP.

The Mitsubishi Triton 2024 is powered by a new 2.4L turbocharged diesel engine with 4 cylinders, producing two power outputs: 184 horsepower/430 Nm and 204 horsepower/470 Nm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission and a 1 or 2-speed Super Select Full-time 4WD II drivetrain.
Designed for off-road capability, the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 offers 7 driving modes including Normal, Eco, Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand, and Rock.
