At the end of November 2020, at the Dai Nam racetrack in Binh Duong province, the “WIN OR LOSE, RACE AND KNOW – SEASON 2” Go-Kart racing event took place enthusiastically, with the participation of about 100 drivers from all age groups.
All drivers used the same Go-Kart racing car with an engine configuration provided by the organizer, which is a fully imported car from Australia, equipped with a 210cc, 4-stroke liquid-cooled engine, maximum power of 10 horsepower, maximum torque of 15 Nm, and maximum speed of over 100 km/h.
The “WIN OR LOSE, RACE AND KNOW – SEASON 2” race is like a sweet garden where Go-Kart drivers showcase their skills to reap the ripe fruit after months of hard training.
The race consists of two formats: Sprint (short distance race) and Endurance (long distance race). For the 14 new drivers (entry-level), the Sprint format with a ranking final race consisting of 14 laps (equivalent to 24 km) was held.
Especially, for the first time in the history of Go-Kart racing events held in Vietnam, in order to challenge endurance and intelligent calculation, FRV Company (Formula Racing Vietnam) organized the 120-minute Endurance race with a total distance of about 150 km.
The Endurance format requires each team to make at least three pit stops and all drivers have to run for at least 15 minutes. Specifically, the 10 teams in this format will be ranked (based on time) according to the maximum number of laps of each team, requiring smooth coordination between 3 – 4 experienced team drivers to save time for each pit stop.
To have a good Le Mans-style start in the Endurance format, the team needs a lot of training. From how to get into the car as fast as possible to how to start the engine instantly.
