In the Vietnamese market, many tycoons are willing to spend billions of dong to own their own personalized Rolls-Royce. A typical example is the Rolls-Royce Phantom Hoa Binh Vinh Quang owned by Mr. Hien, Chairman of the T&T Group, the Phantom Mat Troi Phuong Dong owned by Mr. Le Thanh Thanh, or the Phantom Lua Thieng owned by Mr. Trinh Van Quyet.
All three cars are “1 of 1” editions as the entire car is personalized according to the owner’s preferences.
The Phantom Lua Thieng is even more special as it is part of the Dong Son Bronze collection, an idea conceived by the former distributor of Rolls-Royce in Vietnam. This collection includes Lua Thieng (Sacred Fire), Thuy Trieu (Wave), Ngan Vu (The Money Rain), Than Nui (God of Mountain), Phu Sa (Red River Alluvium), and Me Au Co (Mother Au Co).
However, only the car mentioned in the article was produced as the remaining 5 versions did not have any customers ordering them.
Arriving in Vietnam in 2015, the unique luxury sedan quickly became a phenomenon. At that time, the selling price of the car reached nearly 50 billion VND (excluding registration fees) with a Hanoi license plate. After 8 years of use, the car was auctioned at the end of 2022 with a starting price of 28 billion VND. It wasn’t until the 7th auction that the car found a buyer and was sold for 16.5 billion VND.
Currently, the car is being bought by a reputable car dealer and is being offered for sale at nearly 25 billion VND.
As a Lua Thieng edition, the car has a more eye-catching exterior with the lower half painted in Madeira Red and the upper half in Sunrise Rose Gold. This color scheme symbolizes development, luck, and prosperity according to the beliefs of the wealthy.
The front of the car features the traditional design of the Phantom series, with LED lighting and turn signal strips underneath. Despite 8 years of use, this detail is still well maintained.
The handcrafted Spirit of Ecstasy emblem is made of 24K gold and adds a unique touch to the car.
The rear of the car has a more angular design compared to the softer design of the 7th generation. The exhaust cap, trunk trim, and rear light borders are all chrome plated to enhance the luxury of the car. The fuel cap is located at the D-pillar position.
Based on the EWB Series II model, the Rolls-Royce Phantom Lua Thieng has dimensions of 6,092 x 1,990 x 1,640 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of up to 3,820 mm.
The car features prominent multi-spoke chrome wheels, measuring 21 inches both front and rear. The central wheel lock cover creates accents with a rose gold border, matching the car body color.
Both sides of the car feature yellow coachlines drawn by artisan Mark Court. The Spirit of Ecstasy emblem is replaced by a bronze drum emblem.
The interior of the car mainly uses leather and wood materials, with a brownish-yellow tone. The 3-spoke steering wheel is simple, with physical buttons. The gear lever, located behind the steering wheel, is a distinctive feature of the Phantom, along with the mechanical clock and the multi-information LCD screen. The central entertainment screen can be opened/closed when the car is started.
The headrest features a hand-embroidered bronze drum emblem with contrasting white thread.
The passenger-side dashboard has the Dong Son emblem and the words “Dong Son” to mark this collection. In addition, each side of the door sill has a pattern of 9 brass bells, symbolizing the 18 generations of the Hung Kings in Vietnam’s history.
The second-row seats consist of two individual seats with a fixed armrest, integrated with seat adjustment buttons and curtains underneath. This compartment is completely separated from the front seats by a transparent partition, but communication with the driver is still possible via an onboard microphone.
On the partition, there is an exquisitely crafted clock and a bronze drum emblem. The trim below the screen features the cultural symbol of Dong Son.
In addition, the British carmaker has equipped two separate refrigerators for the Rolls-Royce Phantom Lua Thieng, including one fridge with a temperature of 6 degrees Celsius and another fridge with a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius for wine storage.
Providing power for this unique Phantom is a 6.75L V12 engine, producing 454 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque, combined with a 4-wheel drive system and an 8-speed ZF transmission. Thanks to this, the car can easily accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds.
