Xpander Motorsport is a collaboration between Mitsubishi Malaysia and Speedline Industries. This 7-seater car is based on the Xpander AP4 off-road racing car, but it has been refined to be suitable for public road use.
The Mitsubishi Xpander AP4 features a power-producing engine with 350 horsepower and 556 Nm of torque, with all-wheel drive and a six-speed sequential gearbox.
In addition to the engine changes, the design of the Mitsubishi Xpander Motorsport has also been altered to give it a sporty look. The car features a red-white-gray color scheme and racing decals based on the AP4. It is equipped with aerodynamic elements such as a front splitter, side canards, and a large rear wing. The rear suspension system is provided by HWL.
The front bumper has been modified with a wind diffuser and air intakes inspired by sports cars. The 18-inch wheels are custom-made from lightweight alloy material and come with large wheel arches.
The Mitsubishi Xpander Motorsport still uses the same 1.5L MIVEC engine as the standard version. This engine produces 104 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 141 Nm at 4,000 rpm.
Mitsubishi Malaysia currently has no plans to release the Xpander Motorsport. However, customers can have Speedline Industries customize the car according to their preferences.
