At the “Make the Future Green” award ceremony during the Vietnam Innovation Summit 2023, VinFast was awarded the highest honor for businesses. The Outstanding Green Industrial Project Award honors leading and pioneering enterprises in implementing green solutions, making significant contributions to the innovation ecosystem.

The jury of the award – Mr. Dan Vardie, Founder and current Chairman of AUTOBEST, highly praised Vingroup’s vision and strategy in investing billions of dollars to develop VinFast as a large-scale green industrial project with international reach. VinFast is leading the trend of electrification in transportation and promoting green living, which is happening worldwide.

Experts attending the conference recognized that in just 5 years since entering the automobile manufacturing industry, VinFast has achieved unprecedented success in the Vietnamese industry. This includes a full range of electric vehicles, from electric bicycles, electric motorcycles, electric cars, to electric buses; along with attractive sales policies, after-sales services, and a nationwide charging station network, making it easy, convenient, smart, and cost-effective for customers to experience green transportation. VinFast’s products are not only present domestically but also exported to many international markets, including major markets such as the US and the EU. VinFast is currently the only Vietnamese company listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange in the US.

As of November 2023, VinFast has introduced 15 models of electric motorcycles, ranging from popular to premium, 7 models of electric cars covering all segments, and VinBus electric buses serving millions of daily commuters in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. VinFast’s network of dealerships, showrooms, and service centers has the widest coverage among all automotive brands in Vietnam, combined with the largest public charging station network in the country with over 150,000 charging ports in all 63 provinces and cities. The locations of the charging stations are meticulously and scientifically calculated to ensure coverage, providing convenience for VinFast vehicle owners when using electric vehicles.

VinFast electric vehicles are also becoming an important choice in the strong development trend of taxi companies such as GSM and other partners. The outstanding advantages of VinFast electric vehicles in terms of intelligent features, cost-effective operation, and sustainable environmental protection have contributed to GSM achieving a record of 6 million passengers in just over 5 months since its launch.

VinFast leads the green and sustainable transportation revolution

According to the Paris Agreement on climate change, Vietnam is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 9% by 2030 compared to business-as-usual scenarios using domestic resources and can increase the target up to 27% with international support. Vietnam also plans to achieve zero net emissions in the transportation sector by 2050.

Therefore, experts believe that Vietnam is considered a potential market for electric vehicles because this type of vehicle has many advantages in terms of saving fuel costs in the context of rising gasoline prices, along with concerns about the environment related to gasoline vehicles. In addition, the government has provided incentives for using electric vehicles, from reducing import taxes on electric vehicles to reducing registration fees for vehicle owners. However, sustainable development requires companies with financial strength, large investments, and long-term vision to lead the way.

“We strive to promote digital transformation to enhance operations, increase efficiency, and quickly respond to changes in customer needs; prioritize sustainability by reducing carbon footprint, choosing renewable energy; and prioritize customer experience as the driving force behind VinFast’s adaptive innovation in the new context,” shared the ESG Director of VinFast, highlighting the company’s main tasks in contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly automobile industry.
