The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton is highly anticipated by Vietnamese customers due to its more rugged appearance and a host of modern features for off-road driving.

A recent Facebook account shared images of a Mitsubishi Triton 2024 seen on several roads in the Lao Cai and Dien Bien areas. This vehicle, with a Thai license plate, was part of a convoy consisting of various SUVs, pickups, and motorcycles and was reportedly participating in a Northwest off-road tour.

Since its launch in late July 2023, this is the first appearance of the new generation Mitsubishi Triton in Vietnam. Meanwhile, in other Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and the Philippines, this model has already been widely available for purchase.

The Mitsubishi Triton is developed on a new, stronger frame system compared to the previous generation, which enhances its off-road capabilities. The Japanese pickup truck has dimensions measuring 5,320 x 1,865 x 1,795 mm (length x width x height, respectively), with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm and a ground clearance of up to 222 mm.

In the new generation, the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 is still designed based on the distinctive Dynamic Shield language but has been refined to provide a more modern appearance. The front part of the vehicle is extended and highlighted by a rectangular grille placed vertically. On each side, there are LED position lights and a set of LED projector headlights similar to the new Xpander. Meanwhile, fog lights are positioned below the front bumper.

The rear of the Triton 2024 has also been redesigned with two opposing L-shaped LED strips. The wheels feature new patterns and have a maximum size of 18 inches, paired with 265/60R18 tires.

The overall interior space of the Triton 2024 is quite similar to the new generation Outlander. The steering wheel-mounted display has a 7-inch screen. The center display is a raised 10-inch screen that supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Some notable features of the vehicle include a smart key, push-button engine start, a 6-speaker audio system, two 12V power outlets, USB Type A/Type C ports for the rear seats, and wireless phone charging.

In Thailand, the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 is equipped with a brand-new 2.4L, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine with two power levels: 184 horsepower/430 Nm and 204 horsepower/470 Nm. This engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, with 2WD or Super Select Full-time 4WD II.

Designed with a focus on off-road capabilities, the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 offers 7 driving modes, including Normal, Eco, Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand, and Rock. Furthermore, this pickup truck also features an active traction control with brake control, rear differential lock, and Active Yaw Control active cornering control system.

In terms of safety technology, the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 is equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Lane Change Assist (LCA), and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).
