Wider trunk space

According to Honda’s announcement, the new Air Blade is equipped with a new load-bearing frame, in which the rear subframe is simplified but still has good load-bearing capacity. Thanks to this change, the trunk capacity has increased from 22.7 liters to 23.2 liters, providing enough space for two half-face helmets. Inside the trunk, there are LED lights for auxiliary lighting, and an integrated mobile phone charging port.

New type of Smart Key

In addition, the Smart Key system on the Honda Air Blade has been upgraded to facilitate easier start-up. Other features such as trunk opening, fuel tank opening, handle lock, and positioning remain the same.

More powerful 4-valve engine upgrade

The most notable upgrade on the Honda Air Blade 2022 is the engine. Replacing the old engine is the new eSP+ 4-valve engine. In addition, Honda has also discontinued the 150 version and replaced it with the 160 version. Similar to the previous version, there are two versions of the Air Blade 2022, the Air Blade 160 and the Air Blade 125.

The Air Blade 160 is equipped with a single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 156.9cc, liquid-cooled, generating a maximum power of 15.2 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 14.6 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Meanwhile, the Air Blade 125 is also upgraded with the new eSP+ 4-valve engine, with a displacement of 124.8cc, delivering a power of 11.7 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 11.3 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

According to the manufacturer’s announcement, this new engine has a fuel consumption rate of 2.26 liters/100km for the 125cc version and 2.3 liters/100 km for the 160cc version.

Therefore, the engine upgrade has helped the Air Blade 2022 have a higher power output than the previous version, but it has also slightly increased the fuel consumption of the scooter. In the previous version, the Air Blade 125 had a fuel consumption of 1.99 liters/100km, while the Air Blade 150 had a fuel consumption of 2.17 liters/100km.
