B-segment sedan sales in November 2023 (in units)

Hyundai Accent: 1,686 units

In November 2023, the Hyundai brand sold 1,686 Accent cars to Vietnamese customers, an increase of 14.4% compared to the previous month. As a result, the Accent not only remains the best-selling Hyundai model, but also maintains its position as the number one sedan in the B-segment. In terms of overall market scale, the Hyundai Accent ranks second, just behind the Mazda CX-5.

Hyundai Accent

The Hyundai Accent is a budget-friendly car model, with prices ranging from 426.1 – 542.1 million VND for 4 variants. In addition, the car has an eye-catching design and suitable features within its price range. Some notable features of this Korean model include an 8-inch infotainment screen, 6 speakers, automatic air conditioning, rear seat air vents, smart trunk control, automatic headlights, and remote start functionality.

Under the hood of the Hyundai Accent is a 1.4L MPI gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 100 horsepower and a peak torque of 132 Nm, combined with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota Vios: 1,556 units

Similar to the Hyundai Accent, the Toyota Vios also had a successful month with sales reaching 1,556 units, a 6.3% increase. With this result, the car model known as the “national car” ranks second in the B-segment sedan and third in the overall market, behind the Mazda CX-5 and Hyundai Accent.

Toyota Vios

In recent months, the Toyota Vios has been consistently running a promotion program to reduce registration fees. This is one reason why this B-segment sedan has regained its momentum.

The Toyota Vios currently has 3 variants and prices range from 479 – 592 million VND. With this price range, Vietnamese customers receive a low-cost and reliable Japanese car model. In addition, the Toyota Vios is equipped with features such as LED headlights, daytime running lights, 15-inch alloy wheels, sportier seats, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity support, and a USB Type C port for rear passengers.

The safety equipment of the Toyota Vios has also been upgraded with 7 airbags and the Toyota Safety Sense active safety package, which includes a pre-collision warning system (PCS) and lane departure warning system (LDA).

The engine of the Toyota Vios 2023 in Vietnam is still a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 107 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and a peak torque of 140 Nm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Honda City: 884 units

November 2023 continued to be a positive month for the Honda City with sales reaching 884 units. Compared to the previous month, sales of this car model increased by 17.7%. The Honda City holds the third position in the B-segment sedan market, but did not make it into the top 10 best-selling cars in the overall market. It is also the best-selling Honda model in November.

Honda City

The Honda City has lower sales compared to the Hyundai Accent and Toyota Vios due to its higher price range, ranging from 559 – 609 million VND for 3 variants. However, this model offers active safety features that its competitors lack.

Specifically, the standard Honda Sensing active safety technology package for the City includes collision mitigation braking system (CMBS), automatic high-beam headlights (AHB), adaptive cruise control (ACC), road departure mitigation system (RDM), lane-keeping assist system (LKAS), and low-speed follow (LSF). The L and RS variants of the car also have upgraded disc brakes.

The Honda City is equipped with a 1.5L i-VTEC 4-cylinder gasoline engine, DOHC, producing a maximum power of 119 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and a peak torque of 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Mitsubishi Attrage: 425 units

In contrast to the three competitors above, Mitsubishi Attrage saw a slight decrease in sales, from 438 units to 425 units. The car model still maintains its fourth position in the B-segment sedan market.

Mitsubishi Attrage

Mitsubishi Attrage is one of the most affordable car models in the segment, with prices ranging from 380 – 490 million VND. Despite continuous official promotions in the past few months, the sales performance has not improved significantly.

The Mitsubishi Attrage features include automatic on/off headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, electrically adjustable/folding side mirrors with integrated turn signals, fabric seats, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 4-speaker audio system, voice command functionality, automatic air conditioning, and an air purifier system.

Under the hood, the Suzuki Ciaz is powered by a 1.4L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, combined with a 4-speed automatic transmission, producing a maximum power of 91 horsepower and a peak torque of 130 Nm. The engine’s performance may not be the strongest, but it offers good fuel efficiency, with a mixed fuel consumption rate of 5.79 liters per 100 km.

Kia Soluto: 95 units

The Kia Soluto has never been a high-volume car model in the B-segment sedan. In November 2023, the Korean car model sold only 95 units, an increase of only 2 units.

Kia Soluto

The Kia Soluto is not highly regarded by Vietnamese consumers in terms of design and features. Therefore, despite its competitive price range from 386 – 482 million VND, this Korean car model is not very attractive in the market.

The Kia Soluto is equipped with halogen headlights, plastic and fabric interior materials, manual adjustment features, an AVN head unit, 6 speakers, 2 airbags, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, hill-start assist, and electronic stability control.

Regardless of the variant, this Korean car model uses a 1.4L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 94 horsepower and a peak torque of 132 Nm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Suzuki Ciaz: 4 units

Compared to October 2023, the sales performance of the Suzuki Ciaz remained unchanged at 4 units. The car model continues to hold the last position in the B-segment sedan market and is once again among the top 10 least popular cars in the market.

Suzuki Ciaz

The Suzuki Ciaz is a car model with less appealing design and only one variant, priced at 534.9 million VND. This is one reason why the car model is not favored in Vietnam.

The Suzuki Ciaz in Vietnam is equipped with LED headlights, LED taillights, power-folding/adjustable mirrors with integrated turn signals, leather seats, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 4-speaker audio system, voice command functionality, automatic air conditioning, and an air purifier system.

Under the hood, the Suzuki Ciaz is powered by a 1.4L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, combined with a 4-speed automatic transmission, producing a maximum power of 91 horsepower and a peak torque of 130 Nm. Although the engine may not be very powerful, it offers good fuel efficiency, with a mixed fuel consumption rate of 5.79 liters per 100 km.
