A rare and unrestored 1969 Ford Mustang 429 Boss surprised everyone with an impressive sale price at the recent Mecum Auctions. The Ford Mustang 429 Boss found a new owner for a whopping $550,000.
The valuable 1969 Ford Mustang 429 Boss has completed a total of 902 miles and has all its original accessories intact. Prior to the auction, the organizers estimated that the car would sell for $600,000 to $750,000.
Unfortunately, the Ford Mustang 429 Boss didn’t meet expectations. Nevertheless, half a million dollars is still a commendable price for this classic car.

A total of 859 Ford Mustang 429 Boss models were manufactured and distributed worldwide. All of them came equipped with a powerful V8 engine. The 1969 Ford Mustang 429 Boss, in particular, boasts a maximum power of 375 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and quickly became a favorite choice among speed enthusiasts.
In addition, the 1969 Ford Mustang 429 Boss’s engine produces a peak torque of 450 lb-ft at 3,400 rpm. This engine power allows the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 7.1 seconds before reaching a top speed of 189 km/h.
Of course, this is not the most expensive Ford Mustang 429 Boss ever sold. In 2007, another Ford Mustang 429 Boss was auctioned off for $605,000 by Barrett-Jackson.
