According to the manufacturer’s announcement, the Lexus GX 2024 will be available at US dealerships starting from early next year with a starting price of $64,250 (~1.55 billion VND). This is the 3rd generation of this model, replacing the previous generation that was launched 13 years ago.

Lexus GX 2024 is developed based on the separate frame platform TNGA-F, similar to its sibling LX 600 and Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series. This SUV lineup includes 6 versions, including Premium, Premium+, Luxury, Luxury+, Overtrail, and Overtrail+. Among them, the Overtrail and Overtrail+ versions will be oriented towards an off-road style.

All versions of the Lexus GX 2024 are equipped with a new twin-turbocharged V6 3.4L engine, generating a power of 349 horsepower and a maximum torque of 650 Nm, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. The vehicle has a towing capacity ranging from 3,075 to 3,629 kg. The fuel consumption is 13.84 liters/100 km for mixed driving conditions.

The Lexus GX 2024 has a length of 5,005 mm, a width of 2,114 mm, a height of 1,915 – 1,935 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. Therefore, compared to the previous generation, the length of the car has increased by 125 mm, the width has increased by 229 mm, the height has increased by 30 – 50 mm, and the wheelbase has also increased by 61 mm.

In the new generation, the Lexus GX has a more rugged and masculine exterior, reminiscent of the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series. The front of the car is still equipped with the distinctive spindle grille of Lexus, but it has been scaled down compared to the previous generation. The square-shaped headlights integrate the “L” shaped LED daytime running lights.

The Lexus GX 550 Premium standard version is equipped with LED headlights, fixed running boards, a power tailgate, a sunroof, and 20-inch wheels. In terms of interior, this version has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, interior ambient lighting, and a 10-speaker sound system. The seats are upholstered in NuLuxe – a synthetic leather with only half the weight of natural leather, and the front seats have heating and ventilation features.

In addition, the GX 2024 is also equipped with the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 driver assistance system, which includes features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and automatic parking.

The GX 550 Premium version is supplemented with LED fog lights and hands-free tailgate. Inside, the car has a heated steering wheel, second-row seats with heating function, and power-folding third-row seats. It also features wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, and an additional pedestrian detection feature in the safety technology system.

The Lexus GX 550 Luxury adds welcome lights and 22-inch wheels. Inside, the car is equipped with semi-aniline leather seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Moreover, the car also has sunshades for the second-row seats and integrated ambient lighting at the door sills.

The Lexus GX 550 Luxury+ is the most luxurious version, with power-adjustable running boards, a panoramic sunroof, digital rearview mirrors, a refrigerator, and a premium Mark Levinson 21-speaker sound system. In addition, the car also has a smoother operation thanks to the adaptive variable suspension system.

The two Overtrail versions are aimed at customers who enjoy off-road driving. The GX 550 Overtrail has the same equipment as the standard version, but it has a 5-seat interior configuration, NuLuxe upholstered seats, and integrated heating. In addition, the car is also equipped with black roof rails, a windshield wiper fluid defroster, a headlight washer system, and a 10-speaker sound system.

With a focus on off-road performance, the Lexus GX 550 Overtrail is equipped with 18-inch wheels paired with 33-inch off-road tires. Moreover, this version is also equipped with an electronically controlled rear differential lock, an adaptive variable suspension system, an E-KDSS electronic active kinetic dynamic suspension system, and hill start assist and hill descent control.

The GX 550 Overtrail+ has a similar configuration to the Overtrail version but focuses more on luxury. Specifically, the car is equipped with heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, and a power-folding third-row seat. In addition, this version also features power-assisted steering, a smart wireless phone charger, illuminated door sills, and sunshades for the second-row seats.

In the future, the Lexus GX 2024 will also have a hybrid version. This version is equipped with a 2.4L twin-turbocharged gasoline engine, an electric motor, and a 1.87 kWh battery pack, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid system produces a combined power output of 326 horsepower and a maximum torque of 630 Nm.
