Toyota Alphard 2023: New Release at $4.37 Billion with Manual Seat Adjustment

After being launched in the Vietnam market on November 22nd, the Toyota Alphard quickly made its way to dealerships for display. In addition, many cars were quickly handed over to the first customers who ordered the car.

This Toyota Alphard 2023 is one of them, but it was ordered by a private individual and then handed over to the customer right during the car delivery session at the authorized dealership. The price was not disclosed, but another private individual also handed over 3 Alphard cars to customers who bought them back. This shows that despite the price of up to 4.37 billion VND, the appeal of the Japanese MPV is still very strong.

The fourth generation Alphard was launched worldwide in June 2023, developed based on the TNGA-K platform, similar to its “sibling” Lexus LM. In addition to increasing the stiffness of the frame by 50% compared to the predecessor, the Japanese automaker also upgraded the suspension system to improve comfort when operating the car.

The dimensions of the car in length × width × height are 5,010 × 1,850 × 1,950 mm, with a wheelbase length of 3,000 mm. These measurements have slightly increased compared to the previous generation, with the 2023 Alphard being 65 mm longer and 60 mm taller. The design of the side mirrors has been updated, with mirror heating and position memory.

The 2023 Toyota Alphard’s wheels are highly appreciated for their aesthetics, with a finished multi-spoke design in 2 tones and a size of 19 inches for all four wheels. The surface is finished in bright and dark tones, which not only retains the luxurious appearance but also adds a youthful and sporty touch to the MPV.

The rear end is impressive thanks to the LED taillights with a soft and eye-catching 3D interface. The trunk can be electrically opened/closed with buttons placed on both sides. The two large creases on the side add a sense of dynamism to the rear, making it less monotonous and square like its predecessor.

The center control panel has fewer buttons. The 14-inch touchscreen is placed in the center, with a rotary knob for adjusting the air conditioning below. Behind the steering wheel is a 12.3-inch multi-information display, replacing the analog type in the old Alphard.

The second-row seats show that the Japanese automaker pays more attention to the comfort of the users, with a more embracing and sophisticated design. With 2 independent business class seats, users can comfortably adjust functions such as heating/cooling, massage, and footrest.

A TV is also installed on the ceiling of the car to serve the entertainment needs of passengers sitting in the second row.

The third-row seats still offer a spacious space, with amenities such as curtains, separate air conditioning, storage compartments, and two Type-C charging ports. Unfortunately, these seats do not have power-adjustment and when they need to store items, users have to fold them and hang them on both sides.

The safety and driver assistance technologies on the MPV worth over 4.3 billion VND include collision warning, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. All of these are included in the Toyota Safety Sense safety package. In addition, there are rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot warning, 360-degree cameras, and 6 airbags.

This Toyota Alphard 2023 model uses a turbocharged gasoline engine with a capacity of 2.4 liters, generating a maximum power of 275 horsepower and a maximum torque of 430 Nm, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid version is priced higher at 4.475 billion VND and combines a 2.5L gasoline engine with 185 horsepower and a powerful 180 horsepower electric motor.
