THACO Auto and BMW officially introduce the intelligent connectivity system ConnectedDrive for the first time in Vietnam. This is the most advanced digital connectivity technology developed by the BMW Group, supporting the connection between customers and vehicles through the My BMW application installed on smartphones.

The My BMW app optimizes all the advantages of the ConnectedDrive connectivity system and now has over 10 million users. Through this app, customers can manage vehicle information, update software, check vehicle status, or remotely control the vehicle. The first car equipped with ConnectedDrive connectivity in Vietnam is the new BMW 3-Series.

In addition to familiar driving assistance technologies such as parking assistance, automatic reverse assistance with rear-view camera integration,… the BMW 330i M Sport also has the intelligent connectivity system ConnectedDrive with new digital features such as online mapping (Online Navigation). The BMW map has the ability to understand user habits and predict and suggest the most convenient route to the desired location. In addition, this feature also allows online searching for favorite locations on the map (Online Search). Users can proactively create personal routes based on their daily travel preferences.

Next is the upgrades to the voice control system through the Intelligent Personal Assistant. Compatible with BMW OS 8.0 operating system, the virtual assistant on the BMW 3-Series can be activated by the command “Hey BMW”. With ConnectedDrive, now users can view updated weather information, open maps, activate applications, look up information,… in addition to controlling basic systems in the car.

The ConnectedDrive system also allows users to remotely update software (Remote Software Upgrade). With this feature, customers will always be updated with the latest versions of the operating system and intelligent applications to supplement features and enhance security.

Conveniences on the My BMW App

The “My BMW” app was launched by BMW for the first time in July 2020, replacing the predecessor app “The Connected”. The interface of the My BMW app was introduced in Vietnam with 4 main tabs, including: Vehicle, Map, Services & Store, and Profile. Each tab will be designed with its own interface to optimize features, with an intuitive and scientific interface that helps users easily get acquainted and use it.

Vehicle tab: includes information and functions related to the vehicle’s status, such as displaying technical specifications. The Vehicle tab allows users to remotely control the vehicle, such as opening and locking the doors, flashing lights, turning on the fan inside the car, honking the horn,… In addition, on the Vehicle tab, users can also locate the vehicle online, set up maintenance and repair services for the vehicle.

Map tab: helps display map information such as travel plans and route details. Users can also easily search for fuel stations, rest areas, and displayed maintenance locations directly on the phone screen. Especially, users can search for locations on their phone in advance and send routing information to the vehicle through the “Send to my BMW” feature. From there, the route data will be automatically displayed on the car, saving operation time and increasing convenience during use.

Services & Store tab: provides information about maintenance schedules, repairs, and helps users actively schedule appointments. Through the Services & Store tab, users can also explore and discover the latest BMW models.

Profile tab: allows users to access their profile information, users can set personalization for information and display of the app to be most suitable. Another outstanding feature of the My BMW app is the digital key (BMW Digital Key), allowing users to use smartphones or smartwatches as the main key. Owners can share the Digital Key with friends and family, up to 5 people.

After the 3-Series, the ConnectedDrive system is expected to be expanded to other BMW models in the future. In addition to introducing the new ConnectedDrive system and My BMW app, THACO Auto also applies a standard 5-year warranty package, unlimited mileage, for customers purchasing BMW vehicles.
