Oracle Lighting has upgraded the M1079 military truck into an excellent vehicle for expeditions.
The SEMA Show is the abbreviation for the Specialty Equipment Market Association, which was founded in 1967. Every year, the association holds an aftermarket trade show called the SEMA Show in the booming city of Las Vegas, USA.
This year, the SEMA Show 2023 runs from October 31st to November 4th and features a variety of custom vehicles with different styles. Most of the vehicles introduced at the show are products of automotive accessory companies or custom car groups. One of the largest vehicles showcased this year is the modified M1079 military truck by Oracle Lighting.
The M1079 light military truck was built by the US military in the 1980s and can be recycled into an off-road vehicle capable of conquering the most rugged environments. To transform this M1079 into a camping vehicle, Oracle has added a new 7-inch LED headlight system on a customized bumper, LED logo lights, a 9-inch LED beacon light on the roof rack, and a 5-inch LED light bar. Additionally, the truck is equipped with a synthetic rope winch with a maximum pulling capacity of 8,164 kg and can be operated with both diesel engine and electric motor. Powering this military truck is a turbo-diesel Caterpillar 6.6L engine paired with a seven-speed automatic Allison transmission.
To serve long expeditions, the truck is equipped with a 1,000W solar energy system. It also features a power-adjustable awning, a large Go Rhino roof rack with a cargo basket, and a new Nardo Grey paint job.
The Oracle Lighting modification does not include a toilet and bathroom. Instead, the interior of the truck resembles more of a nightclub with two leather and Alcantara seats. It also has ambient lighting, Bluetooth speakers, and storage compartments.
Justin Hartenstein, the development director of Oracle Lighting, said: “When considering the project, the important thing for our team was that the design reflects the passion for outdoor activities.” Indeed, true to the spirit of the company, the M1079 is an excellent vehicle for long expeditions.
