11 Ultimate Rolls-Royce Cars Unveiled in 2023

Each Rolls-Royce Bespoke is not just a valuable asset. For the commissioner, this masterpiece is the realization of a desire; a vision turned into reality; a dream come true.

In 2023, these dreams inspired the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective team to redefine all boundaries. This year’s orders have opened up new opportunities in using rare and delicate materials, complex craftsmanship, surface finishes, and other advanced technologies.

For the brand itself, there have been some very special “firsts”, including exquisite hand-punched leather seats, the integrated Starlight Headliner feature with captivating celestial animations, and 3D sculpted details, exquisite sculpted artworks, a new paint layer with complex processes, and for the first time, a personalized Bespoke scent.

These masterpieces are fueled by endless inspirations, from celestial events, cosmic mysteries, romantic landscapes, to family heritage, customers’ personal colors, and more. Below are some magnificent works, representing a lasting tribute to the vision, imagination, and ambition of the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective team and the respected customers – who have chosen to honor their personal stories through Bespoke artistic creations.

ROSE BLOSSOM PHANTOM

This unique Extended Phantom evokes the beauty and tranquility of a summer garden. Artistic embroidered works celebrate the Phantom Rose, blooming in the Rolls-Royce home garden. This special flower appears in The Gallery display space and on the car doors.

In particular, these flowers are also hidden on the Starlight Headliner, a detail that takes over 200 hours to complete. Four species of butterfly – Swallowtail, Peacock, Common Blue, and Duke of Burgundy – can be seen flying within the flowers.

The captivating floral theme is also reflected in the exquisite and intricate rose detailing on the passenger control panel and the center seat backrest between the two rear rows.

PHANTOM SYNTOPIA

Phantom Syntopia, the most complex Bespoke masterpiece ever created, is the collaboration between Rolls-Royce and Dutch Haute Couture fashion designer Iris van Herpen. The car explores the beauty of fluid motion in robust materials, embodied in the ‘Weaving Water’ theme, spanning the Gallery artwork, picnic table, front passenger control panel, bonnet, and Bespoke Starlight Headliner.

The Starlight Headliner detail ‘Weaving Water’ alone takes nearly 700 hours to complete, using a single-stitched leather sheet on ‘liquid metal’ woven fabric to create a 3D effect. This detail is adorned with 162 organza ‘petals’ of exquisite glass, brought to life at the Home of Rolls-Royce by members of Iris van Herpen’s team.

The rear seats are upholstered in a special silk blend fabric with a Weaving Water pattern. To provide a sophisticated and long-lasting sensory experience, the Bespoke Collective team has integrated a fragrance diffuser located within the headrest.

BLACK BADGE GHOST ÉKLEIPSIS COLLECTION 

The Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection explores the mesmerizing interaction between light and darkness when the Moon obscures the Sun during a total solar eclipse.

The Bespoke Starlight Headliner includes an animation sequence that recreates the moment of a total solar eclipse: a circle of 940 fiber optic ‘stars’ symbolizes the radiance around the Moon, surrounded by another 192 ‘stars’. This dynamic image appears for exactly 7 minutes and 31 seconds, the longest duration of a total solar eclipse possible.

The glow-in-the-dark control panel, with 1,846 laser-etched ‘stars’, represents the timeline of a solar eclipse. The highlight of the design is the Bespoke clock face, with a brilliant-cut 0.5-carat diamond set on the bezel, reminiscent of the ‘Diamond Ring’ effect.

BLACK BADGE CULLINAN BLUE SHADOW

The Black Badge Cullinan Blue Shadow Private Collection is inspired by the Karman Line, the invisible boundary 62 miles above the Earth’s surface where our atmosphere ends and space begins.

The Bespoke Starlight Headliner presents an exquisite embroidery painting that imitates the surface of the Moon. It is composed of 250,000 individual stitches in five different colors. A polished piece of hematite is placed on the center wheel, adding a unique tactile sensation.

The rear seat is adorned with intricately embroidered grapevines, each consisting of 9,215 stitches using two different techniques to create shine and texture. The grape motif also appears as gold and stainless steel inlays on the picnic table at the rear, as well as on the coachline.

GHOST CHAMPAGNE ROSE

Ghost Champagne Rose – a celebration of the client’s distinctive colors – is inspired by the digital portrait of @ChampagneRose, the owner. Creating a consistent monochrome tone throughout the exterior paint and interior decoration is extremely complex; materials have different light absorption and reflection capabilities, and the human eye can detect small variations if the same color is applied to all surfaces. Therefore, the Bespoke Collective team has developed multiple ‘Champagne Rose’ color formulas, each delicately adjusted to the unique surface features of each material – combining masterful technical and artistic skills.

MANCHESTER GHOST

This one-of-a-kind Ghost pays tribute to Manchester’s significant historical connection with the Rolls-Royce brand. It was at the Midland Hotel in the city, on May 4th, 1904, that Charles Rolls and Henry Royce first met and agreed to build ‘the best car in the world’ together.

The illuminated fascia features 10,000 laser-etched dots depicting Manchester’s view from above, with the largest dot corresponding to the location of the Midland Hotel.

The design also includes the Manchester Bee emblem – the city’s icon for over 150 years, representing industry and collective effort. This motif appears as a coachline design on the car, intricately embroidered lines on the front and rear seats.

GHOST AMBER ROADS

This stunning collection, limited to only 12 cars, is inspired by amber – a material known as the ‘Gold of the North’ for over 3,500 years, traded on the ‘Amber Roads’ throughout history. These historical trade routes are represented on the Bespoke Starlight Headliner and the glowing fascia panel.

The two-tone exterior paint and interior color scheme enhance the warm and vibrant look of amber. A polished amber piece is placed in the center cap, adding a special tactile sensation.

BLACK BADGE WRAITH BLACK ARROW COLLECTION

This exclusive personal collection, created to mark the end of the Wraith lineup, consists of the final 12 examples of the Rolls-Royce V12 coupe model, the final V12 coupe of the brand.

The design of the car honors the land speed record set on September 16th, 1938, by Captain George Eyston, on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. The Bespoke Starlight Headliner with 2,117 fiber optic ‘stars’ accurately replicates the Milky Way galaxy and the constellations that appeared on that night. The complex design on the doors includes over 320 thin laser-etched veneers, recreating the cracked and uneven surface of the Salt Flats area.

On the fascia panel, a unique artwork depicting the Wraith’s V12 engine is engraved on a black-coated aluminum panel, revealing the shining metal below, in homage to the heritage of this Rolls-Royce icon.

THE PEARL CULLINAN

This luxurious Cullinan was commissioned by the owner’s family to commemorate an important birthday event, capturing the passion for pearls and featuring the most exquisite marquetry detail ever seen on a Rolls-Royce.

The exterior paintwork reproduces the color of the owner’s most precious pearl in the collection. The picnic table surface features a dramatically circular pattern made up of 1,351 individually selected and hand-laid individual veneer pieces. The emblem on the car’s fascia panel is an Arabic character symbolizing ‘Father’, crafted in stainless steel. The Bespoke Starlight Headliner replicates the night sky where the owner was born.

PHANTOM CINQUE TERRE

This unique Phantom pays tribute to the unique landscape and grape-growing heritage of Italy’s beautiful Cinque Terre region. Artwork in The Gallery is a combination of imagination, inspired by the elements of the five Ligurian coastal villages, all digitally rendered before being hand-painted.

The Bespoke Starlight Headliner is radiant with a map of Italy, created with 14,338 individual stitches, with five prominent ‘stars’ marking the position of the Cinque Terre villages.

The rear door is adorned with meticulously embroidered grapevines, each consisting of 9,215 stitches using two different techniques to create shine and texture. The grape motif also appears as gold and stainless steel inlays on the rear picnic table, as well as on the coachline.
