Granstudio – a startup based in Switzerland has just launched a new electric vehicle called Komma UMV. The special feature of this model is that it has a structure similar to a car but compact like a motorcycle.

According to the manufacturer, Komma UMV is 80% smaller than a conventional car, uses 66% less energy, and reduces operating costs by 70%. However, Komma UMV still has all the benefits of a car. This unique vehicle runs on a four-wheel chassis platform that uses a hydraulic tilt system to provide stability but also allows the vehicle to maneuver in tight spaces like a motorcycle.

Similar to a conventional car, Komma UMV also has a drivetrain, suspension system, collision warning feature, and ABS anti-lock braking system. The vehicle also has doors, a trunk, seat belts, airbags, and occupants do not need to wear a helmet. In addition, Komma UMV has storage space both in the front and rear, providing more storage capacity than a motorcycle’s trunk.

Due to the width limitations and hydraulic tilt system, Komma UMV is equipped with handlebars instead of a steering wheel like in a car. The vehicle also does not have a passenger seat, but instead, it has a compact space behind for one passenger.

From the perspective of the company, Komma UMV brings a transformative vision to urban environments, emphasizing the improvement of the quality of public spaces and nurturing community values. By reducing the dominance of cars, Komma UMV paves the way for a more harmonious coexistence with nature, creating more space for recreational activities, and fostering vibrant social interactions.
