S&S Automotive, the distributor of Rolls-Royce in Vietnam, recently revealed that the electric car model Spectre will officially debut on January 12 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Thus, Vietnam is the 5th market in Southeast Asia to launch this model, following Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore. The starting price of the car, which has been announced, is 17.99 billion VND.
Earlier, in mid-December 2023, Rolls-Royce Spectre was spotted at an official repair and maintenance shop in Hanoi.
Rolls-Royce Spectre is the first electric car in the 120-year history of the British luxury car brand. The design of the Rolls-Royce Spectre is heavily inspired by the Wraith and Phantom, but it looks wider and lower, giving it a superior sporty feel.
The front of the car is impressive with a waterfall-shaped grille featuring characteristic vertical slats of the Rolls-Royce brand. In the dark, the grille is gently illuminated by 22 LED lights that are sandblasted onto the heat sink wings at the back. The gentle light reflects through the polished surfaces at the front, creating an exquisite three-dimensional effect at night.
On top of the grille sits the iconic” Spirit of Ecstasy” figurine which is an indispensable part of every Rolls-Royce car. In Spectre, the legendary “Spirit of Ecstasy” is also adjusted to create a more sporty look for the Rolls-Royce car.
The car is equipped with a 2-tiered headlight system. The upper part is a slim LED daytime running light strip while the headlights are positioned deep in the cavity below. In addition, the Rolls-Royce Spectre also has a large center air intake with horizontal fins on the front bumper.
This electric coupe model is equipped with 23-inch alloy wheels – the largest in all Rolls-Royce models in the past 100 years. This wheel rim has an aerodynamic design that helps Spectre achieve a drag coefficient of only 0.25 Cd, the lowest in the Rolls-Royce family up to now.
The rear of the car features a vertically designed LED taillight cluster, accompanied by silver accents.
Inside the cabin, Spectre’s interior features many modern amenities such as a 3-spoke steering wheel with integrated function keys, a digital instrument panel connected to a central touchscreen display, leather seats, etc. The luxury car also adds a digital display for passengers, maintaining the inherent luxury feel of Rolls-Royce cars without giving the impression of an electric car.
An outstanding highlight inside the cabin is the starry LED lighting system on the ceiling, which is designed on both the dashboard and door trims.
The heart of the Rolls-Royce Spectre is an electric motor with a maximum power of 430 kW (about 576 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 900 Nm. Thanks to that, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. According to the CLTC test cycle in China, the car can travel 585 km after being fully charged. Meanwhile, according to the EPA test cycle in the US, the Spectre has an operating range of 515 km.
Rolls-Royce Spectre is also supported by fast charging technology, which charges the battery from 10 to 80% in 34 minutes when using a 195 kW DC charger. In case of urgency, users only need to spend 9 minutes to recharge enough energy for the car to travel 100 km.
