In this upgrade, the Suzuki Swift has upgraded both the interior and exterior, accompanied by a new mild-hybrid powertrain developed and similar to the concept version. The car is equipped with square-shaped LED headlights, a fish-like grille, and raised lines on both sides. One notable difference compared to the previous generation is that the door handles have returned to a traditional style.
Meanwhile, the electrified versions are differentiated by chrome trim on the grille and the hybrid badge on the front fender. The exterior color palette includes 9 color options with 4 two-tone options.
In terms of size, the 2024 Suzuki Swift has almost the same dimensions as the previous generation. The dimensions of the car are 3,860 x 1,695 x 1,500 (mm) in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,450 mm.
Moving inside, the dashboard has been redesigned, featuring a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. There is no digital instrument cluster, but instead a small screen placed between two analog meters similar to the design of the previous generation. Other notable highlights include new air conditioning controls similar to other Suzuki models, along with multiple USB charging ports. Especially, the electronic parking brake with Auto-hold feature has now appeared on the 2024 Suzuki Swift.
In terms of safety equipment, the new 2024 Suzuki Swift is equipped with millimeter-wave radar, a single-eye camera, and ultrasonic sensors, which improve the operation efficiency of the ADAS system. The ADAS package includes the Dual Sensor Brake Support II system, which helps detect cars, bicycles, motorcycles, and pedestrians better. In addition, the car is also equipped with a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring system, and rear cross-traffic alert.
In Japan, the 2024 Suzuki Swift is available in 3 versions: XG, Hybrid MX, and Hybrid MZ. The base version is equipped with a gasoline engine, while the mid-range and high-end versions are equipped with a mild hybrid system. Suzuki has not disclosed the technical specifications, but said that the newly developed 1.2L Z12E 3-cylinder engine will be fuel-efficient and achieve high torque at low revs.
All versions of the 2024 Suzuki Swift in Japan come standard with the new CVT automatic transmission, which is believed to be lighter, smoother, and more efficient than the previous version. Power is delivered to the front or all four wheels through the optional full-time 4WD system.
