The all-new generation of MG3 will be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2024 on February 26. Prior to the event, MG has released a short video teasing the design of this small hatchback.
As previously leaked images suggest, the MG3 2024 shares a resemblance to its larger siblings, the MG5 and MG7. It incorporates the latest design language of the MG brand, featuring a sharp front-end design. At the front, the car is equipped with more aggressive LED headlights and a larger grille. Additionally, there are wide air intakes on either side of the grille and a sporty air scoop under the front bumper.

On the sides, the MG3 2024 features more prominent body creases and cuts. It will also come with new alloy wheels with a dual-spoke “Y” design, giving it a sporty and robust look. Additionally, the car has compact taillights with a design similar to the headlights.

Currently, the interior of this hatchback has not been revealed. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if the interior receives a refresh both in terms of design and equipment to enhance its competitiveness against rivals.
According to the latest sources, the MG3 2024 will be equipped with a self-charging hybrid powertrain featuring a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, an electric motor, and a lithium-ion battery. This hybrid powertrain will provide a smoother and quieter start, as well as improved fuel efficiency.
Specific details about the new engine in the MG3 2024 have not been announced. However, rumors suggest that it will feature a hybrid powertrain similar to the MG VS currently sold in the Thai market, with a maximum power output of 130 kW (approximately 174 horsepower).
In terms of safety, the car is expected to come with advanced driver-assistance features such as automatic emergency braking. This comes as no surprise as this is a mandatory safety feature for new cars in the Australian market since March 2023.
Outside of Europe, the MG3 2024 is expected to launch in the Australian market around the same time. In Australia, it is currently the most affordable hatchback in its segment.
With additional safety features and upgrades, the price of the MG3 2024 is expected to increase. When it arrives in the market, this model will continue to compete with rivals such as the Toyota Yaris, Hyundai i20, and Mazda2.
