According to statistics, in 2023, Toyota Vietnam sold 2,639 hybrid cars, accounting for nearly 12% of the total sales of models with this version.

Cumulatively, the hybrid car market in Vietnam reached 3,000 cars in 2023. In the electric car segment, VinFast held the majority market share with estimated sales in Vietnam reaching about 32,000 cars.

These sales figures demonstrate the thriving automobile market in Vietnam, where the country owns a significant number of hybrid and electric cars compared to other countries in the region.

In Thailand, electric cars accounted for 12% of the market in 2023. However, the Thai government has created numerous conditions for vehicle manufacturers and citizens to promote purchasing.

In Malaysia, electric and hybrid cars accounted for 2% of the total market sales, with 28,055 hybrid cars and 10,159 electric cars delivered to consumers.

In Vietnam, although support for electric cars is limited to exemptions from registration fees and a 3% reduction in special consumption tax, the sales of hybrid and electric cars are still developing well and have a unique position in the hearts of consumers.
