Recently, on the used car market, there has been unexpected news of a billionaire in Kien Giang province selling a McLaren 765LT for about VND 25 billion.
The car has a mileage of over 2,000 km. Although it was first registered in January 2023, the car is from the 2021 model year.
The price of a new car is up to VND 31 billion. In order to drive the car, its owner had to spend no less than VND 35 billion. Therefore, after just one year of use, the car owner suffered a loss of about VND 10 billion.
This amount does not yet include the accessories that the owner has upgraded for the car. It is known that the car has a Novitec exhaust system. This is a smooth gold-plated exhaust pipe made of Inconel, which helps to enhance heat resistance and is usually used for Formula 1 race cars. The estimated cost of this upgrade is up to 11,155 Euros (about VND 285 million).
This car is owned by a billionaire in Kien Giang province and was privately imported to Vietnam in June 2021. The car is regularly transported by ferry to Ngoc Island, Phu Quoc. However, due to its low ground clearance, the car encountered many difficulties during transportation. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why its owner decided to “say goodbye” after a period of time.
This McLaren 765LT is currently being sold with an exterior color of Venue Orange, accompanied by some black-painted composite material details that serve as highlights.
The McLaren 765LT features the characteristic design of the British supercar brand, along with an aerodynamics package mostly made of carbon fiber, including a large front splitter, a front bumper, and modified side fins. In addition, this model is also equipped with unique butterfly doors, a larger rear air diffuser, and most notably, the Longtail standard flying wing at the rear.
All the seats in the car are designed in the style of racing cars, and the safety belts are in contrasting orange color. In addition, the car ceiling is covered with premium suede material commonly seen in supercar models.
The driver’s side door has a small metal plate engraved with the words “381 of 765”. This is also the symbol indicating that this McLaren 765LT for sale is the 381st one out of the total of 765 cars produced worldwide.
Providing power for the McLaren 765LT is a twin-turbo V8 engine with a capacity of 4.0L, generating a maximum power of 755 horsepower and a peak torque of 799 Nm.
This engine combines with a rear-wheel drive system and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission for the car’s acceleration capability from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 330 km/h.
Currently, there are about 5 McLaren 765LT cars in Vietnam, including 4 privately imported hardtop versions and one soft-top version imported by the official dealer.
