In the recently held Singapore Auto Show 2024, Suzuki showcased the 5-door variant of the Jimny. However, the first market to have this model available for purchase was the Philippines.
Yesterday, on January 25, 2024, Suzuki officially introduced the Jimny 5-door to customers in the Philippines. In this market, the car comes in a total of 3 variants: GL MT, GLX AT, and GLX AT dual-tone, with prices ranging from 1,558 – 1,708 million Peso (around 681 – 746 million VND).
Therefore, compared to the expected price of the Suzuki Jimny 3-door in Vietnam, the 5-door version in the Philippines is considerably cheaper. The expected starting price for the Suzuki Jimny 3-door in Vietnam is 789 million VND.
Suzuki Jimny 5-door is cheaper than the 3-door version in Vietnam
The Suzuki Jimny 5-door for the Philippine market is imported as a whole unit from India. The car targets customers who want a more spacious SUV than the Suzuki Jimny 3-door but still retains its off-road capabilities.
Compared to the 3-door variant, the Suzuki Jimny 5-door is naturally larger in size. Specifically, this model has a length of 3,820 mm and a wheelbase of 2,590 mm. In other words, the length of the car is increased by 170 mm and the wheelbase is increased by 340 mm compared to the Suzuki Jimny 3-door. Meanwhile, the width remains at 1,645 mm and the height is reduced by 5 mm to 1,720 mm.
The Suzuki Jimny 5-door is naturally longer than the 3-door version
According to Suzuki, the Jimny 5-door has a ground clearance of 210 mm, an approach angle of 36 degrees, a departure angle of 24 degrees, and a ramp breakover angle of 47 degrees. Similar to the 3-door version, the car is equipped with 15-inch alloy wheels fitted with 195/80 tires.
In addition, the Suzuki Jimny 5-door is also equipped with standard LED headlights in the GLX variant. These LED headlights also feature automatic high/low beam adjustment. Meanwhile, the standard GL variant only has halogen headlights.

The larger size not only adds 2 side doors to the car but also increases the luggage compartment volume. The storage capacity of this model reaches 211 liters with both rows of seats in place. If users want to increase the luggage compartment volume to 332 liters, they can fold the rear seats with a 50:50 ratio.
Inside the Suzuki Jimny 5-door, the interior space is not much different from the 3-door version. Although it is more spacious, the car still has seating for 4 passengers.
Similar to the 3-door variant, the Suzuki Jimny 5-door also features a steering wheel with integrated volume control buttons, an analog instrument cluster with a small multi-information display in a classic design, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, and a 4-speaker audio system. In addition, the high-end GLX variant is equipped with leather seats, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic air conditioning, and automatic folding rearview mirrors.

Under the hood of the Suzuki Jimny 5-door is a naturally aspirated 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine, producing a maximum power of 105 horsepower and a peak torque of 136 Nm, shared with the Suzuki XL7 sold in Vietnam. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission, along with a 4-wheel drive system called AllGrip Pro. The car’s drivetrain has a 2H (2WD High), 4H (4WD High), and 4L (4WD Low) mode.

Finally, the car comes with standard safety features such as 2 airbags, an ABS anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control, hill start assist, reverse camera, and rear parking sensors. The GLX variant has a total of 6 airbags instead of 2.
