The Kia Tasman is expected to be put into production with an annual output of 120,000 to 130,000 units. It will be sold not only in the Korean market but also in major overseas markets such as North America and Australia.

With the code name “TK”, the Kia Tasman pickup truck is developed on a body-on-frame platform. While the official name has not been confirmed, Tasman seems to be a leading candidate. This is because Kia has filed a trademark application for ‘TASMAN’ in several countries, including Korea and Australia.

Tasman is expected to showcase Kia’s latest design language, such as the Opposites United design style and the Star Map Signature Lighting system, similar to the EV9 and EV5 models.

Kia plans to introduce various models, with the first version expected to have a dual-cabin configuration equipped with a diesel engine. The powertrain is expected to combine a 4-cylinder 2.2L turbocharged diesel engine and a V6 3.0L diesel engine, paired with four-wheel drive.

In addition, the car may also be offered with options of a twin-turbocharged 3.3L V6 petrol engine and may have an all-electric version in the future.

The Kia Tasman is expected to be equipped with off-road driving assistance features such as four-wheel drive, locking differential, and terrain modes.

In the global market, the Kia Tasman will compete with models such as the Chevrolet Colorado, Ford Ranger, GMC Canyon, Honda Ridgeline, Nissan Frontier…
