Comparing the technical specifications of the Benelli 502C and Kawasaki Vulcan S Cafe.

Benelli 502C – Price from 166 million VND (including VAT)

At first glance, the new Benelli 502C shares design similarities with the Ducati Diavel in details such as wide handlebars, a fox-eye-like frame, and a flat fuel tank that bulges on both sides. The bike also features a slim seat that extends to the rear. However, the taillights are smaller in size.

The Benelli 502C comes equipped with LED technology in the headlight, taillight, and turn signals. It has a long fuel tank and a short tail. The headlight cover and the radiator grille protection are made of silver material. The bike features dual exhaust pipes with a license plate holder attached to the rear wheel axle.

Similar to the TRK 502, the Benelli 502C is equipped with 12-spoke wheels with a diameter of 17 inches. The front wheel uses a 120/70 tire, and the rear tire is 160/60. The front brake system consists of dual 260mm discs with 4-piston calipers and a single rear disc of 240mm.

The front suspension system is a rigid USD type with a 41mm diameter and a 125mm travel distance, while the rear suspension is a adjustable monoshock, both from KYB. The bike is equipped with an ABS braking system from Bosch for both wheels (the front/rear brakes come from Brembo). The weight of the bike is 216kg, and the fuel capacity is 21 liters.

In terms of performance, the Benelli 502C is equipped with a DOHC, 4-stroke, 2-cylinder engine, electronic fuel injection, producing a maximum power of 47 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 45 Nm at 6,000 rpm, combined with a 6-speed gearbox.

Kawasaki Vulcan S Cafe – Price from 259 million VND (including VAT)

The Vulcan S Cafe is a strategic product of Kawasaki in the Vietnamese market, targeting customers who love classic style. In terms of external design, compared to previous versions, the 2019 edition does not have many differences except for the refined design of the bike’s decals.

The highlight of the Cafe version compared to the regular versions is the addition of a characteristic windshield above the headlight, inspired by classic cafe racer motorcycles. The Vulcan S Cafe is developed based on the “big brother” ER-6N with the style of a true mid-range Cruiser.

The bike has a length of 2,311mm, width of 881mm, height of 1,110mm, ground clearance of 130mm, and a seat height of 706mm. The fuel tank has a drop-shaped design with a capacity of 14 liters. It features a halogen headlight.

The instrument panel of the bike is similar to that of the Kawasaki ER-6N and Versys 650, using a combination of an LCD screen and analog gauges. The left handlebar includes the horn, turn signals, high/low beam, priority light, and warning light (Pass). On the other hand, the right handlebar has the electric switch and the ignition button.

The front wheel of the bike still uses a Telescopic fork with a 41mm diameter, a 5-spoke 18-inch rim, and a 120/70 tire. The rear wheel uses a cross-mounted shock absorber similar to the ER-6N, with a 17-inch rim and a 160/60 tire.

Both the front and rear wheels are equipped with disc brakes and an integrated ABS system. The Cafe version of the Vulcan S allows the footpegs to be adjusted at 3 different levels depending on the rider’s sitting posture. However, the owner has to manually remove/install them instead of adjusting them electronically. The taillight is still a simple design that matches the overall look of the bike.

In terms of performance, the Kawasaki Vulcan S Cafe 2019 still uses a DOHC, twin-cylinder engine, 649cc displacement, and liquid cooling. This is the same engine that is equipped on the ER-6N, Ninja 650, and Versys 650.

However, this engine has been adjusted to fit the characteristics of a cruiser. This means that the engine will achieve high power and torque at low rpm. Specifically, the Vulcan S Cafe has a maximum power of 61 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 63 Nm at 6,600 rpm, combined with a 6-speed gearbox.
