When considering purchasing a European car, one of the most important concerns for consumers is the after-sales service, warranty, repair, and availability of replacement parts.

Skoda Vietnam currently distributes the Kodiaq (a 7-seater SUV in the D segment) and the Karoq (a 5-seater SUV in the C segment), which are imported from the Kvasiny factory in the Czech Republic.

Both models utilize the MQB chassis, which is a well-known chassis structure from the Volkswagen Group. The MQB chassis is a breakthrough in the automotive industry, as it helps streamline the production process and improve the longevity and safety standards of the vehicles. With their European origins, both models undergo stringent production and inspection processes before being shipped, ensuring excellent performance, durability, and high safety standards.

After-sales services for European cars

Remote repair shops, unavailability of parts, and long waiting times… These are common barriers that make consumers hesitant when considering imported European cars. Skoda Vietnam aims to overcome these challenges with its dealership strategy.

Currently, Skoda Vietnam has 5 dealerships nationwide that offer sales, after-sales services (repairs, warranty, etc.), and genuine spare parts. In the next 5 years, Skoda Vietnam plans to expand its authorized Skoda dealer network to over 30 locations throughout the country.

Warranty policy

Skoda Vietnam currently offers a 3-year warranty with unlimited mileage for all new vehicles purchased from authorized dealers (as stated on the official website of Skoda Vietnam). Customers can receive warranty services at any authorized service centers nationwide.

With the expansion of dealerships, Skoda car owners can conveniently find repair shops in any area. Based on calculations, Skoda Vietnam’s warranty coverage could extend up to 8 years from the date of production.

In addition, Skoda Vietnam plans to introduce a mobile service repair service. Initially, this service is expected to be available in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City before expanding to other dealerships nationwide.

Maintenance policy

The recommended maintenance interval for Skoda cars is 7,500km or 1 year, depending on which occurs first. Unlike many other car brands, Skoda does not require a 1,000km initial maintenance interval. The average cost for a regular maintenance session is approximately 80% compared to competitors, with the lowest cost starting at around 2.7 million VND for the first session and approximately 5.8 million VND for the fourth session at 30,000km.

Replacement parts

The unavailability of spare parts is a common issue faced by many European car owners. To address this, Skoda Vietnam plans to import and stock spare parts domestically, ensuring immediate availability when requested by customers.

As part of the Volkswagen Group, Skoda is one of eight brands that share various platforms, including the MQB chassis. This advantage allows Skoda to use 60% of the parts interchangeably with other European brands, enriching the supply of replacement parts not only for Skoda but also for owners of other European brands.
