The sales consultant “recommended” that customers interested in the Honda CR-V 2024 should purchase additional accessories worth 50 million VND if they want the car to be delivered immediately.

On October 25, Honda officially launched the CR-V 2024 in the Vietnamese market. The car is available in 4 versions including G, L, L AWD, and e:HEV RS with prices ranging from 1.109 to 1.259 billion VND. As a result, the CR-V is significantly more expensive than the Mazda CX-5 (749-999 million VND), Hyundai Tucson (769-899 million VND), or Ford Territory (822-935 million VND) in the C-segment SUV segment.

Right after the launch, the CR-V 2024 was in high demand at the dealerships. According to a sales consultant, if customers want to get the Honda CR-V 2024 e:HEV RS hybrid version immediately, they need to purchase additional accessories worth 50 million VND. Therefore, with this additional purchase, the total price for this version would reach nearly 1.5 billion VND.

The high price coupled with the requirement for additional accessories may pose challenges for the Honda CR-V 2024 in attracting customers. With the price range of the CR-V, customers have several alternatives in the broader D-segment SUV segment, such as the Hyundai Santa Fe (price 970 million – 1.3 billion VND) or the Ford Everest (1.1 – 1.5 billion VND).

Compared to the previous generation, the Honda CR-V 2024 has undergone comprehensive upgrades in terms of design, features, and engine. The vehicle features LED headlights with adaptive technology, integrated daytime running lights, and a seamless grille design.

The interior of the car is also equipped with a range of new and modern features such as a 10.2-inch TFT digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch entertainment screen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay connection.

Other notable features include an automatic anti-glare rearview mirror, HUD display, power tailgate, electronic parking brake, and wireless phone charging. High-end versions come with a smart key or smart card type lock and a panoramic sunroof.

One of the attractive features of the Honda CR-V 2024 is the inclusion of the Honda Sensing active safety system in all versions. The e:HEV version offers a technology package that includes collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control (including low-speed range), lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive automatic headlights, and forward collision alert.

In terms of performance, the Honda CR-V 2024 gasoline version is equipped with a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power of 188 horsepower and a maximum torque of 240Nm. It is paired with a CVT gearbox and is available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options.

The e:HEV version of the CR-V is equipped with a 2.0L Atkinson Cycle 4-cylinder DOHC gasoline engine combined with 2 electric motors, providing a power output of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 335 Nm. It is paired with an e-CVT gearbox and front-wheel drive.
