On October 25th, Honda Vietnam Company (HVN) officially launched the 6th generation Honda CR-V.

The Honda CR-V has been a respected product since its first introduction in Japan in 1995, and it is beloved by customers in over 160 countries worldwide. With cumulative sales of 13.5 million units globally (as of July 2023), the Honda CR-V has proven its popularity. In 2008, the Honda CR-V made its debut in the Vietnamese market and has since maintained its position as one of the leading SUV models, earning high ratings from domestic experts and customers.

Building on the success of the previous generation, the all-new 6th generation Honda CR-V was unveiled worldwide in 2022. With significant design changes and technological advancements, the all-new CR-V quickly gained support and became a favorite among customers. In January 2023, the model was honored with the “Top 10 Best New Cars of the Year” award (Car and Driver 10Best) in the United States, a highly prestigious recognition in the automotive industry.

In line with the goals set by the Government of Vietnam and Honda Motor’s commitment to Carbon Neutrality by 2050, the 6th generation Honda CR-V was officially launched in the Vietnamese market on October 25th, 2023. This new generation introduces the Hybrid engine option alongside the traditional gasoline engine, providing customers with more environmentally diverse choices. With the slogan “Powerful Leaps,” the all-new CR-V promises to deliver a completely new experience with its outstanding values: “Sporty Design – Powerful Performance – Advanced Safety – Maximum Convenience.”

The Honda CR-V 6th generation, all-new, is now available in the Vietnamese market starting from October 29, 2023, through the Honda Car Distributor Network nationwide. It comes with two engine options: gasoline engine (locally assembled) and Hybrid engine (imported from Thailand), offering various versions, color options, and suggested retail prices as follows:

OUTSTANDING VALUES OF THE PRODUCT

The all-new Honda CR-V sets a new standard for premium sporty SUVs with its set of outstanding values: “Sporty Design – Powerful Performance – Advanced Safety – Maximum Convenience.”

Sporty Design

The design of the 6th generation Honda CR-V is a remarkable highlight, featuring significant exterior changes. The all-new CR-V has larger dimensions compared to its predecessor, resulting in a more robust and powerful appearance that emphasizes its inherent sportiness.

The striking sporty appearance of the CR-V catches the eye with features such as the honeycomb-style front bumper and strong chrome lines. The black paint adds a trendy and powerful touch. The thin and sharp LED headlights provide a modern and sophisticated look, exuding elegance and mystery.

The body features sharp lines that create a sense of continuous forward motion, running from the taillights to the headlights.

The vertical taillights at the rear of the vehicle have a traditional design but stand out with modern and sophisticated displays, adding personality and leaving a strong impression.

The high ground clearance and sturdy 18-inch cast-aluminum wheels further enhance the sporty appearance of the CR-V.

In addition, the rearview is widened thanks to cleverly designed windshield pillars and mirror positions, providing both convenience for the driver and a majestic appearance for the vehicle.

Moreover, Honda Vietnam introduces the RS version to customers for the first time in Vietnam, featuring a Hybrid engine. The RS version takes the sporty features of the vehicle to a new level with distinctive highlights: black painted grille and mirror, RS logo on the front and rear, red stitching on the firm black leather seats, and glossy black-painted 10-spoke wheels, creating a sporty and energetic vibe.

Powerful Performance

As is customary for Honda vehicles, the all-new Honda CR-V delivers sporty and powerful performance, satisfying the driving pleasure of customers. The 6th generation CR-V continues this mission with two powerful and fuel-efficient engine options: Hybrid engine (5-seat version) and gasoline engine (7-seat versions). The Hybrid engine makes its debut in Vietnam on a Honda CR-V, promising a powerful and exciting driving experience.

Hybrid engine (e:HEV RS version)

In line with the transition to renewable energy and the commitment to environmental sustainability, Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) play a crucial role. HEVs are an effective solution for environmental issues and are suitable for the Vietnamese market due to their charging infrastructure and consumer habits. Honda has introduced Hybrid vehicles to Vietnam, and the CR-V e:HEV RS is the first step in Honda Vietnam’s journey towards achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050. The fuel-saving Hybrid engine reduces fuel consumption by about 30% compared to vehicles with gasoline engines, significantly reducing CO2 emissions.

The Hybrid engine system of the all-new Honda CR-V is designed with post-exhaust treatment technology, advanced combustion technology, and a system of 2 motors combined with a 2.0L internal combustion engine. This setup enables the vehicle to operate powerfully and smoothly. The internal combustion engine and the Hybrid motor can generate a maximum power of 146 Hp (109 kW) at 6,100 rpm and 181 Hp (135 kW) at 4,500 rpm, respectively. When both the gasoline engine and the Hybrid motor work together, they can generate a maximum power of up to 204 Hp (152 kW).

The all-new Honda CR-V e:HEV RS features an E-CVT transmission that includes a generator motor and a driving motor. The generator motor charges the battery when necessary, and the driving motor generates a pulling force of 335 Nm, optimizing operational efficiency, fuel economy, and powertrain stability while minimizing noise and vibration.

The gasoline engine options (G, L, L AWD versions) of the all-new Honda CR-V come with a 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged engine. This engine provides a maximum power of up to 188 Hp (140 kW) at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of up to 240 Nm within the range of 1,700 – 5,000 rpm. The 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged engine delivers a natural and responsive driving experience without Turbo lag, even at high speeds for overtaking.

For the first time in Vietnam, the all-new Honda CR-V offers the L AWD version with 4-wheel drive, providing an exciting driving experience and excellent durability and flexibility on any road.

Chassis, Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH), and Vehicle Body

The all-new Honda CR-V offers a comfortable and inspiring journey. The body stiffness and steering system have been improved to provide a firm and responsive driving feel from the moment the engine starts. Suspension friction has been reduced for smoother movement, and sound insulation materials have been added around the body, engine, and windshield to minimize engine compartment noise, road noise, and external noise entering the cabin.

Advanced Safety

The all-new Honda CR-V emphasizes safety and reliability while contributing to the Vietnamese government’s goal of “No deaths due to traffic accidents by 2045.”

All versions of the all-new Honda CR-V are equipped with Honda SENSING advanced safety driving support technology, which provides comprehensive protection for drivers, passengers, and other road users. The upgraded Honda SENSING system features a wider-angle camera, radar, and precise processing unit, enabling the system to accurately measure distances and positions based on changes in size and time. It can recognize white lines, road edges, motorcycles, pedestrians, and bicycles. The system includes superior features:

– The Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)

– The Auto High-Beam Headlights (AHB) system (applied to gasoline engine versions)
Or
– The Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) system (applied to the Hybrid engine version)

– The Adaptive Cruise Control system with Low-Speed Follow (ACC with LSF)

– The Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)

– The Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

– The Low-Speed Follow System (LCDN)

In addition, the vehicle is equipped with other advanced active and passive safety features to provide the highest level of protection for passengers and road users.

The active safety features include: Honda LaneWatch lane observation system (L, L AWD, e:HEV RS versions), Hill Start Assist (HDC), Active Steering Assist (AHA), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Driver Attention Monitor (DAM), 360-degree camera (L AWD, e:HEV RS versions), rear sensors, front sensors (e:HEV RS version), automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers (L, L AWD, e:HEV RS versions), rearview camera, rear seat reminder function.

The passive safety features include: an 8-airbag system that includes front airbags, curtain airbags, and knee airbags in the front seats.

The all-new Honda CR-V has officially received a 5-star safety certification in the crash test carried out by the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP). These safety features ensure peace of mind and enable CR-V owners to handle any emergencies that may occur during their journeys, ensuring the highest safety standards for both short and long trips.

Maximum Convenience

The all-new Honda CR-V 6th generation offers customers various interior options. It is available with 7 seats (gasoline engine versions) and 5 seats (Hybrid engine version). By skillfully combining advanced technologies and sophisticated design, the all-new CR-V provides the pinnacle of convenience, modernity, and spaciousness.

The spacious and modern interior is equipped with advanced technologies. The large central control panel features high-quality control knobs, a tidy layout, and a user-friendly design, providing convenience for both the driver and passengers. The Head-Up Display (HUD) (L AWD, e:HEV RS versions) updates important information, allowing the driver to focus on the road and handle any issues promptly, ensuring maximum safety. The control compartment of the all-new CR-V is spacious, accommodating 2 smartphones and supporting wireless charging.

The front seats are designed to fit passengers’ bodies and minimize vibrations in weak areas such as the pelvis and lumbar region, reducing fatigue during long journeys. The 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory for 2 positions, as well as the reduced steering wheel rotation, provides a sporty feel and easy driving, comparable to controlling a compact sedan.

The all-new Honda CR-V offers advanced features to maximize passenger comfort. These features include 4-way power-adjustable seats for passengers, 8 cup holders, and a central armrest position that provides comfort and relaxation for all passengers during their travels.

Smart Connection

Honda Vietnam applies a special 5-year or 130,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty policy for parts of the Hybrid system, provided that customers fully comply with the manufacturer’s recommended periodic checks and maintenance during the 5-year usage period. In addition, Honda Vietnam offers 24/7 roadside assistance nationwide (free for the first 2 years) for CR-V Hybrids experiencing tire-related issues that prevent the vehicle from continuing the journey.
