Reports from Japanese media suggest that Toyota is planning to develop a compact version of their Land Cruiser, known as the Land Cruiser Mini. This new model will compete with the 5-door Suzuki Jimny and will be built on a separate ladder frame platform.

Recently, the global debut of the all-new Land Cruiser Prado took place, and a compact version was hinted at, featuring a design with tall pillars and a nearly flat roofline. The Land Cruiser Mini appears to share some design elements with the Toyota Compact Cruiser EV concept that was unveiled two years ago. However, it is important to note that the Land Cruiser Mini will not be an all-electric vehicle at launch, as per reports.

Unofficial renderings of the Toyota Land Cruiser Mini showcase a boxy and rugged design, incorporating elements from the new generation of the Land Cruiser Prado and the Cruiser EV concept. The front of the car features a C-shaped LED DRL strip surrounding sharp LED headlights, vertical LED turn lights, and a small black grille with prominent TOYOTA lettering. The front bumper has a rugged appearance with a solid skid plate. The vehicle also boasts a muscular hood, flared wheel arches with black cladding, dual-tone alloy wheels similar to the concept, and metallic accents for decorative elements.

Tall pillars and sturdy roof rails, a dual exhaust system, a roof-integrated spoiler, and distinct LED taillights give the Land Cruiser Mini its unique look and appeal.

Regarding powertrain options, the Toyota Land Cruiser Mini may offer a 2.0L gasoline engine sourced from the Corolla Cross, a 2.5L hybrid engine from the RAV4, or a 2.8L turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine.
