Recently, the paparazzi has been actively capturing images of the test prototype of what is rumored to be the commercial version of the KIA Carnival Facelift. It seems that Kia has drawn inspiration from the design of the EV9, resulting in a refreshed appearance for the Carnival. One of the noticeable changes is the inclusion of new LED headlights, arranged in a vertical fashion, along with horizontal LED daytime running lights.

The 2024 Kia Carnival boasts a striking wheel design, similar to that of concept car models. Although the rear of the vehicle is still concealed under camouflage, we can catch a glimpse of the inverted L-shaped LED taillights, which are a departure from the horizontal design found in the current version.

The new Carnival aims to impress with its automatic sliding doors, sunroof, and spacious interior. Its design language takes inspiration from SUVs, while its feature set and specifications are tailored to suit the needs of the modern driver. Inside the cabin, expect a technology-filled experience, complemented by the ADAS system.

When it comes to engine options, it is likely that the Kia Carnival facelift will retain the same choices as the current version. In South Korea, where the vehicle is manufactured, customers are able to choose between a 3.5L gasoline engine and a 2.2L diesel engine.

However, there have been whispers suggesting that the upgraded Carnival will offer a hybrid option, possibly inherited from the Kia Sorento. The current Sorento Hybrid boasts a combined power output of 227 horsepower, while the Sorento Plug-in Hybrid delivers 261 horsepower. Both models feature a turbocharged 1.6-liter T-GDi engine coupled with an electric motor and batteries of varying capacities.

Furthermore, Kia is expected to introduce some new features with the facelift version of the 4th generation Carnival. These additions may include a HUD screen, Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2), a pair of 12-inch curved screens, fingerprint recognition, and seats inspired by the EV9’s Ergo Motion Seats.

The official launch of the 2024 Kia Carnival is anticipated to take place in South Korea later this year, followed by other markets in early next year.
